Would you be upset with your dh for this?

Not trying to sound harsh...but...yeah a little over reaction....:scared1:

I would have had a heart attack out of shear joy if my husband had taken the initiative to do somethin glike that without being asked!!!!:cheer2:

And people wonder why men say all women are crazy! Darned if he does, darned if he doesn't! :rotfl:

While I understand you would have liked to know..I would have considered it a sweet thing, and taken him out to diner to thank him LOL! Heck, no one could sneak and take ours down. It means dragging the boxes back out of the attic, having a mess all over the room, and lots of time to wrap each ornament, and pack it.

I'd be doing the happy dance if my husband took it down, it'd be worth the lack of pictures but I do understand how you feel. Just plan on getting an even prettier tree next year!

Well, maybe it is just you and me, but I would have shed a tear too. Our Christmas tree is a HUGE deal to me and I have to actually stand/sit in front of it and stare at it awhile until I am totally done with it emotionally and ready to take it apart. I know it's dorky, but that is just me.

ok, yes I can understand how you feel. Here's my story...

One year my very well meaning husband put up all our Christmas decorations, tree and all, during the day while I was at work ( he must have had the day off or something, I don't remember). He did it with his grandmother as a suprise for me. Well I sure was suprised, but I was also upset because I really love to do the decorations. This was maybe our second year married in our new house and I had very definite ideas about how and where I wanted things and he put some things in places that I wouldn't have, etc. I looked great but I have to admit I cried, but I felt horrible for being upset. I know he meant it as a good thing, just as I am sure your husband did too.

Now, many years later he knows better to leave the decorating up to me! And I did get over feeling upset pretty quickly and did appreciate his hard work. I hope you do too!

If you really wanted pictures that bad, wouldn't you have taken them before today, January 4, if it meant so much to you this holiday season? Seems to me like you're looking for something to complain about. Otherwise I misinterpreted your post and I'm sorry in advance for that. Like you said, get over it. You should look forward to next year's tree - and make a deal with your husband beforehand agreeing that you'll take it down together, or by yourself when you're ready. Belated Merry Christmas!:santa:

No...............actually, I can't figure out the digital camera! I'd asked dh several times to take pictures of it, guess he forgot or didn't think it worth taking pictures of.

Just a note to say that I still never got around to taking our family picture in front of the tree and I took ours down today. Sometimes you just get so busy that you don't get time to do the little things or you put them off until after things calm down a bit, so around now January 4th might be the perfect time to take a picture. Give the OP a break.

Good God no.

Anybody who wants to help out around here is more than welcome to go for it without any consultation from me. :cheer2: :cheer2:

Personally, I would have been happy! Yesterday, I took it all down inside and outside (except the lights on the roof) and am waiting for him to put the boxes away (he hasn't been home, in his defense). No offense, but it is Jan 4, it is time!

My husband also took our tree down today and I was THRILLED it was done when I came home from work. He was home with our son (who was sick), and I couldnt believe he did it!!!!!!

So, I am feeling quite the opposite of you....

I wonder if your feelings were about more than just the Christmas tree? The tree represents the whole holiday season and all of the down-time and family time that often go with it. Maybe part of your sadness was saying "goodbye" to Christmas this year. That is how many of us feel when it is time to come home from WDW. I know I surprised myself and felt silly as all get out when I started crying on our last monorail ride.

Um.....can I borrow your husband 13 years together and my husband will still wait until I ask for something to be done at least 3 times. You are a lucky woman.

Be thankful for what he did and move on. I was thrilled when DH took everything down, packed the ornaments and put the tree in a box on the 26th. On the 29th he took all the outside ornaments down.

I was really happy!

Wow-- I would have been THRILLED if my dh had done that... don't you understand how lucky you are ?!?!?!?
