Would you be comfortable with character meets like this?

...your last paragraph is nonsense.

Actually it's not nonsense at all. An indoor meet and greet would be risky even if people took their masks off for 30 seconds. Sure, it's low risk if one person does it, but groups of people, doing it over and over again? Outdoors would be less risky, of course, but there is still some risk involved. If they used alternating spots outdoors it would be even better, as that would give the droplets time to descend, and any aerosol time to disperse.

As mentioned, Universal has been doing this for months. I saw no one have an issue putting masks back on after photos. 20210321_073214.jpg

Universal's CMs also offered to use my phone for photos and specifically said "did we want one with no masks?"

I mean... the problem is generally people in Japan follow the rules and put the safety of others above their own desires. That just isn't the case in the US often.... as witnessed by the people literally spitting in the faces of Uber Drivers and other people trying to enforce rules they don't agree with. I think if Disney believed people would follow the guidelines/rules and do as they were asked, things like this might happen. But here it would have the danger of turning into a situation of "give them an inch they will take a mile" easier to just have stronger wider boundaries.

Also...about the mask-less photo spot idea... I mean if each person stands in a spot, removes their mask and is quickly replaced by someone else in the same spot taking off their mask... seems like you're breathing in the air of the last ten people standing mask-less in the same spot. I don't know if it's dangerous or not, but seems to be tempting fate in a country that has a much higher rate than Japan currently
germs don't just linger in a concentrated cloud in the air. also I'm *fairly* certain someone infected with COVID doesn't spread it just by breathing, I believe it's coughing out infected droplets which then immediately disperse and land on surfaces (or other people) then contaminate them, simply breathing in the same place an infected person breathed is not how it works.

Actually it is, and so is this. I’m sorry but by this logic there’s a RISK when your you know in a crowded theme park or ever eating in a restaurant. Continue to practice your cautionary measures but removing your mask to take a photo and promptly placing is back on is not causing harm to anyone.

Yes, exactly. So, as long as you hold your breath, it's fine - but as soon as you have people posing for multiple photos, over and over again - you see the risk. You've mentioned it yourself, thanks!

Pretty much every park but Disney is doing this. Dollywood even tells its guests at the photopass areas to remove because they know how important it is to your families smiles for pictures.

Can we just mention how freaking cute Toad is!!!

I think Disney could easily introduce character meets like I have seen done at Knott's Berry and other places - similar to what they are doing with Mickey and Minnie in Epcot, but just maybe more themed photo areas. ...think Donald in DinoLand. I am sure that they are trying to think of new ways to bring the meets back in some form or capacity.

So ignore that paragraph, I take it back.., the first stills stands

Her whole post is nonsense.

My post mentioned people spitting at Uber drivers... I could add more, lots of people fighting against the current roles, that isn’t nonsense it’s a fact. People aren’t following the current rules lots of places, inclusion Disney, and fighting the employees who try to enforce them that’s a fact.

whether you agree with the rules or not is your prerogative. But I don’t think Disney wants to open the door to more of it
