Would you Accept an Upgrade?

I declined an upgrade over the summer at the Beach Club. They called a few days before to ask if we would switch from CL Lagoon/Pool view to a One Bedroom Suite. After carefully questioning the CM that there was truly only one bed and might or might not be a daybed and that they could not provide a rollaway bed, I declined. I was wrapping up a week of sharing a bed with my 8 year old at the Beach and was tired of being kicked. It was worth it to me to make sure we had TWO beds.

And then I emailed my travel agent in a panic that I was an idiot for declining. She talked me down.

I do wonder though--we had some serious issues with CM attitude/behavior/treatment of us during our stay and I couldn't help if we were "those difficult people who refused an upgrade" and that filtered through.

Still staying again this summer!

A one bedroom is like a one bedroom apartment with a living room, kitchen, stacked washer/dryer and regular bedroom and yes they do have a second bed its the couch that pulls out into a bed so if you were still able to go into the CL lounge you should have taken the upgrade. I don't know if they did the same furniture as the BWV if they did there is also a fold out bed under the TV in the living room.

I think they offered them a one bedroom suite, not a one bedroom villa. They are very different and yes the one bedroom suite only has one bed.

I agree with the other posters... They're offering to upgrade you for a reason. I'd take it. We loved our lagoon club view room at BC back in 2010. Plus it's been freshly renovated.

Absolutely, yes! The new BC rooms are fantastic and the new CL lounge is a huge improvement over the old. I'd request a full balcony, though, since it's not guaranteed at BC.

Funny you say that, because we feel the same. Last year, we declined an upgrade from standard CL to deluxe CL because we've stayed deluxe CL before and preferred to be close to the lounge. Also, the deluxe CL rooms were not renovated. After declining the upgrade, we ended up in a wonderful GV VL room and absolutely loved the room and the proximity to the lounge. Same issue, however, with CL CMs (except for a CM named Jen in the lounge, who was fantastic.) On the other hand, we have stayed CL a few times at BC and this seems to be rather standard.

I would take the upgrade but we've stayed at just about all the disney resorts and like doing different one's because it gives a new feel to the trips. We have our favorite resorts but finding something new when you go fairly often is a treat for us.

I would for sure - we loved Beach Club. The few extra steps to the boat wouldn't bug me - you're closer to Epcot so it balances out :)
