Would We Feel the $1200 Difference?? WL & Poly

Yes - Ripped off right from my fellow Dis'er's thought-provoking thread!

It's "only" a $600 difference between POR and WL for our January trip. Booked WL. Called this morning - just for curiousity - for a Poly rate and was quoted $1200 higher for garden view.

I'm still waiting for a possible code. But for a deluxe resort, I am thrilled with WL at the $600 increase over a mod.

Just pondering more and more about the questions of "value" and "worth" for my little family. We may "want" the Poly, but we can "afford" WL - and are very very fortunate that we can swing that!!

Does anyone else do this kind of thinking??

I always have to bring myself back to realty. You can justify in your mind extra $$ for all sorts of things, and before you know it you've gone thousands over what you started out with. I loved the WL, and would have a hard time paying so much more for the POLY.

The WL is my favorite - so much so that I am now a proud DVC member at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge. That said, picking a resort is a very personal choice. I love the Pacific Northwest feel of the Wilderness Lodge and its overall rustic elegance. I love the coziness of the fireplaces on a cold December night and the view of the Lake through the pine trees from my balcony. I love to walk over to the campgrounds through the nature walk along the lake. For me the Poly could be the same price and I would still pick the WL because I am at home there and very comfortable. I love the boat ride over to the Magic Kingdom - even if I have to stop by the campgrounds first. On the other hand, others who love the Poly do so for its theming and the fact that it is right on the monorail - all reasons I can understand. So overall - picking a resort is a very subjective thing but I think you'll be very very happy at the WL.
