would we be comfortable in a studio?

The patio/porch/balcony at OKW is small for the studio and very large for the one bedroom. I'd go with a one bedroom at OKW just for the space and for the washer and dryer right in the room. Also with the full kitchen, you could save on food. Now if you are eligible for the Dining Plan, you'd have to purchase it for everyone in your party for your entire stay. To me that's a lot of food, especially if you have a full kitchen available.

For 21 days, I'd get a one bedroom in there for at least half of the stay. Preferably at the end of the stay and not at the beginning.

Any rental agreements are between you and the owner of the points.

how does 9 nights in a studio at OKW followed by 12 nights in a one bed at BWV (standard view) sound?

Okw is my husbands favorite Resort and BWV's is my favorite resort. Sounds like a great vacation. I know you were interested in SAB, but I think you will find the kids will LOVE the large tub, and that will make up for it! LOL

Isnt planning fun!! I would love to plan out a 3 week trip. Maybe when the kids get older....

If you are going to book two different resorts you could make the reservations separately and just add the dining plan on one part of your stay. You would have to use all of the credits up during that part of your stay (either in the first 9 days or the last 12 days), but at least you would be able to benefit from the dining plan on part of your trip and not have to pay for the full 21 days. Just a thought since it doesn't sound like you will be using the DDE for this trip.

Just a differing opinion, but we did a 27 night stay this summer and it was all in studios.

It was myself, Dh and my 2 Ds's ages 6 and 8.

We spent 12 nights at BCV in a studio, 2 nights in Tampa (Marriott) and then 13 nights at SSR in a studio.

We had an awesome time and I am so glad we had the opportunity to do that as a family, because the next time Dh and I get that much time off together will be in retirement and our Ds's will be grown!

We hadnt originally planned to stay that long, but a couple of weeks before the trip, some time fell into our laps, so we decided to extend our stay.

The boys are getting bigger and we are planning 1 bdr vacations in the future, but with children as young as yours, a studio would be a lovely accomodation, especially with a sofa bed so you could free up floor space during the day.

If you are organized enough to stay in 1 room for 16 nights, then 21 nights will be a piece of cake!

Suzanne, I would say you can do this with no problem at all.

Being from the UK like you, we are always very pleased (and surprised) with the generous sized accommodation America offers.

We have done one 23 night stay and one 20 night stay in WDW / Florida in the last 9 months and had studios or hotel rooms for both stays and it was absolutely ample for our needs (my DDs are a little older than your children too). We stayed at various locations including SSR, BWV, AKL, CBR, ASMo etc.

It is lovely to split your stay we found. It made the holiday even more exciting! Obviously there is a limit to how much packing and unpacking you want to do, but we found 3 resorts in a 3 week stay absolutely do-able.

We like to put the children to bed in the evening (not early like at home though!) and sit out on the balcony with a nice drink or two :)

I guess it is what you are used to, but I would prefer to stay for longer in a smaller room than shorter in a bigger one (hope that makes sense). With the price of flights from the UK any saving on rooms can only be a benefit, LOL.

If you are hoping to convince DH to buy into DVC, try to book at least a few nights in a one bedroom at OKW. I think you'll love the space.

While family time is wonderful, I can't imagine having the children sleep in our bedroom for 21 nights! Where's the romance???? One of the beauties of dvc is not having to be crammed into the same sleeping room on family trips - and 21 nights like that is not my idea of a vacation.

With kids so young, I don't see the 2nd bed (OKW) as being a significant advantage over the others (with sleep sofa). Having the sleep sofa will help make the studio look more like a mini-apartment rather than a bedroom. OKW has the advantage in terms of lower points, but it just depends how important it is to keep the cost down. I'd seriously consider starting in a studio but switching over to a 1br partway through the trip - privacy & adult-time is just as important as family memories. The 1br is much more of a "WOW" experience, which is helpful if you're trying to convince hubby to become a dvc member.

.

Romance...Whats that??????

seriously though we wouldn't be concerned about the time in one room and as i said before we have been considering staying in a moderate or deluxe in a standard room anyway.

Have been showing DH pics of the one beds and am getting very encouraging noises, along the lines of i could stay there and, how does this timeshare thingy work then?? He still loves the look of the beach club though so i guess we will be thinking of a one bed there, for 12 nights split with 9 nights either in a studio or a moderate. Still can't see me convincing him to buy before we have visited again and stayed in one of the resorts.
