Would this make me an evil daughter

So my parents decided to book a trip for their anniversary next month. (Mind you the Boardwalk for 2 of them is still more $ than our planned girls only weekend at POFQ, maybe I should go with them next time!) Would it be wrong for me to pull up their reservation and add on to the comments section that they will be celebrating their anniversary while down? As is, I'll probably arrange for a Disney Florist basket to be sent, but any extra pixie dust might be a nice suprise. Any thoughts?

I didn't pull up my parents reservations, but I called a few days before and told the hotel. And then I called the morning of and told them again that it was their anniversary. They got a special certificate in their room and some balloons.

IMO I say if you know someone well enough to have there reservation code and confirming information then you have the right to call. I think it is very sweet that you want to add some pixie dust to their vacation.

Wow. I think that's a great idea! It'll make their trip that much more magical! Definitely do it! :thumbsup2

Evil? Never!! I think it would make them remember what a WONDERFUL daughter they have! :sunny:

Just keep in mind that many people are celebrating something at WDW. Disney may not do anything for them.

I have seen the face of evil and thy name is pezheadmeg :stir: :scared1:

I think it is great that you want to do this for your parents.

You'll have to let us know how they liked the surprise (if any)

I agree with everyone else. You should notify them and if your parents get something great - if not you tried.

You're a good daughter!!

I definitely think you should notify the hotel! If they do something nice, it will be a lovely surprise. If they don't, nothing is lost.

When my DH and I married, my in-laws called the hotel we were staying at and arranged for a bottle of champagne and a beautiful flower arrangement in the room! At first I thought it just came with the room, so good thing the hotel folks also left a note from the in-laws so we could properly thank them! :sunny:

I figured I'll call CRO after they get the ME documents. That way I know they'll have no clue. Does anybody have experience with the gourmet baskets from Disney Florist? I figured that would be better than flowers for a short stay. ;)

The only caution--do they LIKE special treatment. Most of the people in my family cringe at the thought of birthday cakes being brought to the table in a restaurant, etc. Only do it if you think they'd enjoy it.
