I don't believe either of the ideas I tried to come up with to excuse the behavior, but I had to try. It makes me sad that he didn't try to find a home for the cat.
I would have doubts about continuing the friendship.
It's a true story, our other friend called him. She said he just seemed very, "well, what else was I supposed to do?"
