If your spouse got a speeding ticket and didn't tell you
I think this is different because you eventually DID tell, and only didn't tell right away was so that the family could enjoy the holidays. You didn't keep it from your spouse all together.I got a speeding ticket 2 weeks before Christmas, and did not tell DH. He was super-stressed out about money, and I did not want to ruin the holidays with worrying over my stupid ticket. I ended up telling him about a week before my court date in Jan. I am not sorry that I didn't tell him earlier. I know how he reacts to things, and I knew it would worry him from the moment he found out until it was resolved.
No. If I got a speeding ticket, I wouldn't tell my spouse. I'd pay it and learn my lesson. I'm his wife, not his daughter, and I don't feel I have to report everything to him. He has the right to feel the same way.
In my book, telling a lie always gets you in more trouble than the original offense (the ticket). Yet, men still lie.![]()

Not too much. I think he should tell me, but if he didn't and I found out, I wouldn't be that upset. I guess I'd just ask why he didn't tell me.
It would bother me for a couple of reasons. The first is that I would want to know so that it was handled in the right way.
