Would my 5 y/o enjoy a Value Resort more than a Moderate?

We will only be staying two nights in June. I know that I would enjoy a Moderate resort more, but since DD is only 5 and this is her first trip to Disney, I can't help but think she would get a kick out of the outside decor at the Value resorts and it would probably make more of a lasting impression on her than a "grown-up" resort would. Plus, since we are only staying two nights, it's not like we will be taking advantage of many of the resort's "extras".

I know all on-site resorts have "Disney Magic", but at her age, seeing a huge Dalmation or gigantic PlayDoh container would probably tickle her pink!

Any thoughts?

Yep!

I took DD when she was 6 and we stayed at All Star Movies. She loved it! I wasn't so thrilled with the mini bathroom but it was a trip for her. Really you aren't giving up all that much from a moderate. I have stayed at CSR, CB, GF and ASM. My personal favorite is CSR but just because I find the themeing so peaceful.

I'd save the extra money and take her to breakfast at the castle or something else special like that.

We took DD(5) to Pop Century last April... this year we are talking about staying at Poly. My DD is VERY adamant about staying at Pop again. She absolutely loved the pools and the decor at Pop. She doesn't want to stay anywhere else

My DD age 5 loved Pop!

The moderates just don't seem very interesting for younger kids. If we can't stay deluxe, then we stay value.

I agree! My kids absolutely adore POP and really did not enjoy POR. The over the top theming is great for little ones and dh and I enjoyed it too . The only thing better, IMO, was the pool, but my little ones (9, 7, 3, 1) didn't seem to mind AND they all the loved the kiddie area at POP!

I think she would appriciate the value resorts more. We've been to POP and ASMovies, my kids loved both but preferred ASMovies.
