Help! I'm beginning to feel overwhelmed!!! DH, 2DDs (9 & 6) & I will be at WDW in 5 days. If you have any suggestions for open meal slots, I'd love to hear them. Or if I have something listed you would not agree with, I'd love to hear options. We will be at the Polynesian Conc. , so breakfast is taken care of.... I'm trying not to spend a fortune, but I also want this to be a special, first time visit for us. Thanks everyone.

This board has been SOOOOOOOOOOO helpful to me I cannot thank all of you enough!

Looks good! I would definitely do Harbor House over Pecos Bill. We like it better... Besides, you'll be having such a great time, the food won't be a priority! :)

I don't know if the Flame Tree is open. I thought I read somewhere it was closed or open seasonally? I can't really help you out with the AK. The only meal we have had there was a late breakfast at Breakfastoraus, which was good. One thing you might want to consider as a backup for that night is grabbing a bite to eat in the concierge lounge. We find it very relaxing having a bite to eat in the lounge, especially after your first day at the parks. It would still be early enough that if you didn't like what was in the lounge you could hop over to Kona Cafe:)
For MGM I think 50's Prime Time is a great restuarant. You might want to think about Hollywood and Vine for lunch, my kids really have a great time. I just noticed you didn't have any character meals scheduled. It is one of our favorite meals and I think there is great variety. We are going to do Hollywood and Vine for lunch and Pizza Planet for dinner. I have never done Pizza Planet, but my 4yr old really wants to eat there. I wish we could do H&V for lunch and 50's Prime Time for dinner, but it's not in the budget.
Pecos Bill is a great spot for lunch. My kids prefer mac and cheese so we end up at Columbia Harbor House. 'Ohana's is one of our must do restaurants:D We are going to celebrate my dd's birthday there in 2 weeks.
I have never had breakfast at Kona Cafe. It doesn't look like you are going to the parks the last day. My suggestion for lunch would be the Grand Floridan Cafe. I enjoy going to the GF. My kids like the peanut butter and fluff sandwhiches. The WCC has a fun lunch that the kids would get a kick out of. We have that scheduled for our trip. You might even want to grab a bite to eat in DD. We are planning on getting something from either the Marketplace or Wolfgang's when we spend the day there. The kids would have fun going into Once Upon A Toy. I plan all of our meals and we probably end up eating in half of them. Have a great trip.

The first thing that pops out at me is the first meal planned.....Flame Tree BBQ. That is only open at certain times (I believe when park is very busy) and chances on, during your trip, it will not be too busy and this restaurant will not be open. As an alternative at AK, you could try the Rainforest Cafe. Our meals there have always been fine and your kids will love the atmosphere with audio-animatronic animals everywhere. It's pretty cool!

For dinner at MGM, I don't really have too many strong recommendations. I like your choice of 50's Prime Time for lunch. If I had to suggest dinner where you want to keep it less expensive, I'd say Sci-Fi Dine In. I am only recommending this place for the atmosphere...not the food. The food is nothing more than OK but it is fun eating in your own 'car' and watching B-movie trailers. Another fun place for the kids.

By the way, we really enjoy O'Hana. Again, the kids will get a kick out of it but we have always found the food to be good here...and you get a lot of it....bring your appetites!

Hope you are psyched.....should be a great trip for all of you. And you will love Poly concierge! You can even get a lite meal and desserts here for an evening if you don't have dinner plans.

I'd just suggest you check on the AK closing time and how late Tusker House serves. Perhaps you're thinking of a very early dinner, which could work.

How about Tusker House for lunch and Rainforest for dinner? The servings are usually so large at Rainforest that you can split meals. Just check on the time of the last bus back to the resort, unless you want to plan on a cab.

We prefer Columbia Harbour House, especially for the salad with chicken and feta cheese (unless you're really looking for a burger). Have a great trip!

:D
Thanks y'all! Sounds like I need a backup in case BBQ is closed. I forgot to list Rain Forest Cafe (dinner in DTD after CDS show Friday night). If Flame Tree is closed we will hit Tusker House for lunch instead.

Hadn't thought about 5:00 closing for AK being problem for dinner. See? That's why I need all of you to keep me on my toes!!! Thanks kda. May just have to hop on over to Epcot that night after a swing by hotel for afternoon snacks. All of my friends keep telling me it won't take us all day at AK. Then we could hit Epcot for dinner & fireworks. Good idea?

No character meals planned. Just couldn't swing it this trip. But the girls aren't "mad" Disney fans yet. After this trip though, who knows. We are all getting pretty excited!! We may just wing all of it. We may even FREEZE at this rate:p .

5 more days....

Your choices are definitely my personal favorites. I like to eat dinner at the 50's Prime Time. You could lunch at the ABC Commissary or some other counter service. I thought that Pizza Planet was a bit slow and crowded when I was there in November. We ended up carrying our pizza up and down two floors looking for a table. But who knows, I bet other counter service places could be no different at lunch time.

AK is a tough one. In my trip in a few weeks, we hope to eat at the Flame Tree for lunch if it is open. We plan to watch the parade then head over to Boma's for dinner since the park closes at 5pm and we are near the resort. I figure we can visit the Savannah before the sun sets then enjoy dinner.

You should not be disapponted with O'Hana. Great food, fun, and service. Have a magical trip!

I think your idea about eating dinner at Epcot is a good one versus eating two meals at the AK in one day. Lots of great and different themed places to choose from.

Thanks y'all!!

I just read in another post that Flame Tree might be open all year now. I'll keep my fingers crossed anyway. I'll post when we return to let you know. I think I like the idea of eating at Epcot more & more Sat. night. From the looks of the forcast, we will need somewhere inside & warm by then. :(

Any favorites that won't cost an arm & leg ? I'm searching tonight for another post I read somewhere on Epcot dining. Oh my - so many choices.

Thanks again for all of the help & suggestions! :teeth:

4 days & counting... !
