Would Love To See Better Maps Of The Parks

My eyes are not very good now and I have a hard time reading the maps Disney has of the parks. In 1971 when I was 11, we took the Chevy Chase Family Vacation to Disney Land. I can still remember the Disney Land Park map that we had. It was almost the size of a regular road map. As I remember, I hung it next to my bed and used it as a reminder each day to ask my parents when we were planning to go back. In the days where everything is turning green, I don't think that Disney would ever consider using more paper for its maps, but it would help those whose eyes are not good and even might be used as a marketing tool.

I would like to see interactive maps you can view on a smartphone or netbook. It could have live wait times for attractions and even restaurants. With all the photos taken for Google Earth it would be cool if it integrated with that for 360 views directly from the map. It could be zoomed into if you need it to be larger.

Not only would this be a better map but it would be economically and environmentally friendly. Need to make a change, change an image on a server instead of destroying thousands of maps and reprinting them.

Hmmm...great idea. Wonder if someone is working on this! Maybe we should put an "X" in the thread and see if it would make a good "project"

I've found the maps in the Passporter books very accurate and helpful. :thumbsup2

What about the customizable maps you can order for free on the Disney website? They are much bigger than the regular park maps.

These are very nice. We ordered a set last year. The paper stock is very thick, and the maps are pretty detailed.

It would be nice to be able to pull up a nice map of the park you are in on your IPhone, or any smart phone for that matter.

just to grumble a bit:.. I simply think the maps at the parks are horrible. I gave this alot of consideration while i was at the parks thinking "is this RIGHT?" I wracked my brain to think of how they could make the maps better, and really couldnt come up with much of a solution..again, usually we're looking for dsa's (a whole other conversation) and so the longer it takes, the worse it gets, but this time i was aware of that, that i might be 'nickin' while trying to read a map. But honestly, sometimes there were other things that we just didnt seem to be able to locate without a little wandering. Im not saying their maps arent accurate, but i was still having trouble with them..hope to find some alternatives..
