Would it be stupid/corny to decorate my window/door at Riverside?

I printed out a photo magnet to put on my door at port Orleans riverside. Also, I wanted to place a few things in the windows using suction cups. I wouldn't do anything to damage it, but I'm wondering if this is considered tacky or stupid. Thanks :wizard:

Not tacky, not stupid -- we have done it before and so have many, many other people.

I've seen lots of people do it. You're going to a place where everyone is a kid again. As long as it doesn't damage the window, I say go and make your vacation even more magical!

I see lots of people doing it at Christmas time when we've been there.

We decorated our window/ledge during our Christmas Week trip. Lots of clings. Light up Mickey ears I found at Walgreens.

Love it!

I'm surprising MIL with Christmas in June and plan to decorate accordingly next month at POR. Just some lights and a door magnet but I want to spread cheer even off-season

My daughter and I are night owls so while the rest of the family is sleeping One of our favorite past times is to walk the resort and seeing how people decorate thier windows. Its truely a magical thing!

It's not stupid or corny....it's FUN! You're in WDW, so do whatever makes you happy. Somewhere there are threads just about window decorating. Look for it in the search engine. There are lots of photos and many of the Halloween, general (B-Day, year round) and Christmas decorations are wonderful. Just be sure that you have fun with it and don't leave any damage.

My married DD and I decorated our window when we were there at Halloween-time. I saw displays that had window clings and an assortment of stuffed Disney characters posing on the top of the A/C unit. Door magnets were on some rooms, lights, everything you could think of.

Just don't leave tape behind when you check-out, or use glues or other permanent materials. 3-M has nice products for temporarily sticking items to walls/windows. Think about bringing an extension cord/surge protector to reach an available outlet.

Embrace your Inner Child. WDW is definitely the place for that!

Yes, IMO

DVC resorts have asked guests not to put any decorations on/in the villas that can be seen from the outside. And any interior decorations should not damage the room finishes.

We do it sometimes and we do it for our DDs and our family and I do not want to sound mean but really do not care if some people don't like it.

She's not staying at a DVC, she's staying at POR. Are the rules different for DVC resorts vs. the othe resorts?

I don't think it's stupid to decorate, as long as you don't do anything permanent or ruin anything, op.

:goodvibesIts not stupid at all..I have made alot of magnets for our door..we are also staying at POR..will be there in august/september..have a good time!

Not sure what the rules are for other resorts, but DVC was very specific and sent out the info to members.

I would suggest asking at the front desk before doing it.

I personally don't like the idea of decorating doors or windows. I think that it takes away from the resort theme and the overall feeling of the resort. I'm glad it's not allowed at DVC resorts and it should also not be allowed any deluxe resorts. Sorry, but that's just my opinion.

we didnt decorate ours, but our cleaning people did! my sons "buddies" were all in the windows and my rapunzel wig (from mnsshp) was draped with pascal hanging from it one day :) it will be decorated on oct 4th for my sons b day!!! but the whole room will be...
