Would anyone be interested in a Pal Mickey swap?

Perhaps you should charge a bit more to cover unused days? $2 (plus pp fees, and batteries) a day covers the price if he's used for 30 days..but if he's babysat for some of that time, the sitters wouldn't be paying, so you may need more from each person. Also, if someone is handing him off, on say the 15th..does the hander and the handee both pay $2 for that day? Perhaps you should also decide in advance what happens to Mickey on the last day..does the last person keep him and pay a bit extra?

Yeah, I was noticing that I set myself up for eating a bit of the cost. for May. How about this, I look over how many people are doing it and see how much cost is not covered, like the couple of days DM Rick has it if she has it and should not have to pay since she is only helping out etc.. Maybe we can have a surcharge and split it equally among all takers- at it looks right now I think it would only be another dollar or two total per person, if that.

Your dates overlap quite a bit so if either of you wants to be paired with someone else to have more days with pal Mickey, let me know. You both and the great and wonderful DM Rick are the only responders so far. DM Rick can babysit 5/12 thru 5/19. So as it stands if no one wants May 13 and 14 DM Rick will be babysitting those days.

I don't have any problem paying more than $2 a day. Maybe we should see how many takers we can get and then divide the costs? In the end, we'll come out on top if we can pay less than $8 a day, which I believe is the cost to rent Mickey.

I am willing to share Mickey during my week, incase someone is ionterested and their dates overlap with my dates!

Also, my DS will be 7 months old in May. She has no need for another stuffed animal - even tho Pal Mickey is awfully cute! So I am happy to pay my share and then let someone else keep or donate him.

I'll be down in Orlando from 7/23 to 8/1, but only at WDW from the 28th to the 1st. I'd love to head up a July Pal Mickey swap. I'm going down as the leader of a youth group of 75 teenagers. I thought I'd bring back a pal mickey as a souvenir for my daughters, and this would be a great way to make it more affordable. Any July people want to start this swap out. I see it as only have 4 or 5 people in it. Saw one of the earlier threads that had a nice run of July people starting around the 10th and going til the 23rd.

DM Rick has a lot of good points so anyone in the May swap with ideas tell me. I am wondering about payment on those days where you don't have it the entire day? Maybe split the day in half or thirds depending on how much of the day you have it?

I have it on good authority that Give Kids the World would LOVE to receive our retired PM's.

And I am willing to start off May with my slightly used PM, providing we can get him to GKTW when May ends. So Microcell, Javay and DMRick, I need to hear from you, please PM or email me. Thanks!

our guests!!! We primarily mention the "new" part on our Wish list because
many GKTW children have severe allergies or breathing conditions, and that's
why we're worried. However, I'm thinking that we would have the families
share the PAL Mickeys-like we have them do with video cameras, etc. (maybe
not have them go home with the families). I'm pretty sure that Disney
either sells PAL Mickeys or rents them-so we can partner with them to see
how they prepare them for the next user. The GKTW families would definitely
have fun with them...thank you for considering us for the last stop on PAL
Mickey's tour!

This run of Mickey is almost full. there is room for people to join like May 10 to 14 as I am willing to give up some of my days if someone can use them. As I said before, DM Rick has offered to babysit at no cost to her, so unless someone wants at least the 13th and 14th for use, we have a pretty full run of a pal Mickey! I am going to PM you again Ms Swish to see if you want everybody here to get payment to you or just me.

I believe I have put everyone on this list that has PM'd me.

If someone gets a November/December swap going, we will be there from 11/20 to 11/27. we don't need it all of those days but 2 or 3 days would be nice. we don't need to take it home as the youngest children in our party are 8 & 9.

Where is the Give Kids the World organization located? I've heard plenty about Make A Wish Foundation, but not GKTW.

What a bright idea, but I don't know how to work out the logistics of it. We'll be there October 9-16, 2004, so if anyone's going before or after that (DCL on the 16th -23) PM me. My DD7 would love to use a Mickey Pal, I heard they're really neat.

I never once thought that you where smiling at your suggestion. I felt you were pleased for GKTW.

I am not coordinating the May Swap, Microcell is. I only offered my slightly used Pal at no costs to the May Swappers on the condition that he not go home with the last swapper, that he be taken to GKTW instead. If this is not agreeable, its find by me, I will use him on my vaca and then taken him to GKTW myself, no problem.

And to answer someones question, Give Kids the World is located at: 210 South Bass Road, in Kissimmee, which is about 10 to 11 miles from WDW or about 20 minutes travel time.
