Would a Postage Stamp Offend you?

They have the "new" Holiday Postage Stamps out, and we sell them at my Publix (where I am a cashier). The other night, I had the "religious one" with the Mother Mary and baby Jesus. One lady asked when purchased, "Do you have any other stamps?" I told her no, I just have these. She said "Well, I'm Jewish!" I said "Sorry thats all I have." The other customer about 2 hours later, said: and I quote: "I don't like these stamps!" I asked why, and she said: "They are TOO WHITE!" I laughed, a little, and said "Oh, sorry about that!" So, no I do not have any of "those" stamps in my drawer, don't want to "offend" anyone!

I would not be "offended" by religious stamps, but I would not buy them. I don't believe in God and those stamps would not be an accurate reflection of my personality and beliefs.

If I came through your checkout line and those were the only stamps you had, I would simply decline them and not make a big deal out of it. Sorry that some people are giving you grief!

I could care less what stamps I have as long as they deliver the mail. I've even bought Hannukah stamps to mail my Christmas Cards when they were out of everything else. If anybody noticed, they never said anything to me.

I wouldn't care...but I do buy my stamps at the Post Office so I can get what I want.

However...if I was in a bind I wouldn't care what was on them.

Postage stamps could have Santa shooting the bird for all I care. Anything is fine with me as long as my letters get delivered. Maybe I'm an inferior individual to not care, but I DON'T! Far more important things in this world to worry over and obsess about.

However, I'm not quite sure "love" stamps on are good on bills. I really think the post office should come out with stamp that looks like this: for bill paying. Or if there is no money in the account and you are hoping your paycheck beats the bill, you can use this smilie: . Maybe it can be secret code to the mailman to lose the letter at the bottom of the mailbag or something!

I use to work at Publix as a Cashier until I moved to California. I loved Publix...Anyways I do remember getting angry customers last christmas when all I had was stamps with mary on them or something like that. There only stamps, but I guess some people see it differently.

Oh yes, I've had many a customer who wished we had a stamp that was someone 'flipping the bird' just to use on their bills. I keep telling them that noooo we can't do that one.

However, we do have all of the different holday stamps at the post office. No need for anyone to get huffy in a line somewhere. They just need to drive a little further on and visit us.

But when the Postal Service puts Jesus and Mary on a stamp that stamp becomes both. I can totally understand why the Jewish woman was upset that Publix only had Jesus stamps. It's not like she really wanted Hanukah stamps, just stamps without Jesus. Is that really too much to ask?

From a technical pointof view if you licked the back of a Virgin Mary stamp, ould she still be a virgin?
