My father just completed chemo yesterday
for colon cancer. We are leaving for WDW in 15 days. He doing well, but I'm worried about him waiting/stand in long lines expecially if they are in the sun. As a side effect of the chemo, he can't touch or consume anyting overly cold. ie ice water to keep cool, and he obviously tires easily.
I'm not even sure if he would be willing to get a GAC card as he is a very proud man and feels like he shouldn't get special treatment. He handled all of his chemo and still mowed the lawn and kept up his volunteer job working with the needy etc.
I guess what I'm trying to ask here is, does a person suffering from chemo side effects qualify for a GAC card if he needs to rest in the shade while the rest of the family waits in a long, sunny, hot line?
Thank you
