I purchased 2 Bennigans gift cards in June to be used for my son's seventh birthday. Upon paying the bill, we were told that one of them has a $0 balance. (I know I have not used this on another occasion! I haven't eaten there in a year but it is my son's favorite restaurant!) Up to this point, I have not experienced any problems with the membership whatsoever. Other than calling their customer service department (which gets very mixed reviews) any suggestions? I have a feeling I will not get very far with this and am most likely out $20.00. Thanks!

Please let me know what happens !! I just bought a few from Red Lobster and a couple for Hard Rock Cafe, a couple are gifts ! I would be mortified if that happened !!!! and I also bought mine from Hotwire !!

That's odd. We've probably used three of ours in the past few weeks and have had no problem. It sounds like someone fell down on the job somewhere. I would definitely call.

edited to add: I did order two/two on my last order. The RedLobster ones and the Carrabas/Outback ones. However, they sent all four as the RedLobster group. We're easy though, and we do like RL and Olive Garden, so no big loss there for us.:)

Have you tried calling the customer service # on the card? Most cards have a customer service # for you to call to check on the balance. Maybe they can track the points and verify that the card was never charged or that you somehow got a card that was used by someone else.

oh my,that is terrible to hear.I just ordered 100.00 gift card for our vacation in Nov.for the Hard Rock.My hubby would be so mad if we went to use it and it said 0.00!
I do hope they will fix this for you.Good luck!

I have been a member of hotwire for almost a year and have only had one problem.

I recently ordered $375 worth of JCPenney giftcards (school shopping) and when I received them (ordered on Wed, received Sat), I only had 14. I immediately called Hotwire and told them I only received 14 of the 15 giftcards I ordered. I was ready to get the run around, based upon some of the horror stories here. They said they would send out the giftcard right away and I should receive within 8-10 days. Well I received the card exactly one week later. I have to say that I was very pleased with their customer service.

I would call them about this. Also, I would like to add that I have probably ordered at least $1,000 worth of GC's from Hotwire and have never had any problems.

Good Luck

I would definately give them a call. I jave ordered many cards from them and so far not had a problem with any of them.

Do call about it. My DS received a Toys R Us gift card last Xmas that had a zero balance when we tried to use it. However a customer service rep was able to research it from the number on the back (believe it was in UPC code format) and see that it was never used and that it had the $50 balance attached that wasn't plugged into the card itself properly. It was probably human error and easily fixed. Good luck!

Just spoke with the customer service department. I have to send the card back to them via certified mail and they will look into it. I will post later with the result.

momtofour,

I hope everything works out for you. In the future if you order gift cards again, you might want to verify the amounts by calling the customer service numbers on the back of the cards as soon as you receive them. This is what I do even though I've never had a problem just because I'm super paranoid!:hyper: Good luck!
