Hello Everyone,

I'm from Quebec, Canada and will be at Disneyland for the first time at the end of october. We're a family of 5 and already have 6 days park hopper before the price went up:thumbsup2 Would like to have your comments about the Halloween party. Will be there Oct 19th up to the 24th. Would like to know if It's worth it to pay an extra 270$ to be part oft he tuesday night party? Looks a bit expensive for an extra 4-5 hours at Disneyland:scratchin

Kids are 9,8 and 5 years old. Thanks for your help!

I have not done it yet so I think you can take my opinion with a grain of salt. I say no. You already have your tickets (at a good price :)) so just enjoy the days you have there, which is plenty to see everything! I say on the night(s) if the Halloween party, go back to your hotel, relax, enjoy the pool, take the night off, maybe order some take out.

On the other hand, is $270 for a night of fun is reasonable for your family, and everyone is dying to do it...you only live once right??

I disagree. It depends on what you are looking for. Disney holiday parties are very impressive and have attractions/parades/fireworks that you will not ever experience at other times. I say if you are there and can experience them then by all means do so unless you can't afford it.

Originally this was at California Adventure. Kids did have fun but I didn't feel its worth it. They have since moved it to Disneyland and added more entertainment and a fireworks show. Much better now.

It is fun but only you can decide if its worth the extra $'s. Most kids and many adults wear costumes. There is live entertainment areas with a dance floor for kids. Throughout the park are trick or treat areas so bring a good sized bag. The Halloween fireworks is one of the best Disney puts on.

At Disney World the party does include a very well done haunted parade that begins with a headless horseman riding down main street. I have not heard that they do a special parade at Disneyland. Has this been added?

Money is not really a problem. Can afford it but just wanted your opinion to make my final decision. Thanks to all of you!:)

If you can afford it, do it. It's a lot of fun, depending on what you go for. If all you do is trick or treat, then you are paying $270 for candy. But if you guys dress up, get pics with characters, take in the special fireworks, etc. I think it is totally worth it! And I would encourage the adults to dress up as well, it really makes it a fun night!

C`est vraiment super...tellement belle ambiance, c'est le party favori de notre famille. Beaucoup mieux qu`a WDW:)

Yea missed that. I was thinking WDW and assumed DL would be the same. Never been to a holiday party at DL"

i would do it if you can maybe mnot use one the full day tickets? in less you have 6days because thats how long you are there for. eathier way at 3 or 4pm you are allowed in with the ticket for the party. you would get 8 hours in dl for the price of the ticket Id do it if i were you the one we did at dca i sisnt like to much but my son was sick too so i didnt get a good time this time im excited its in dl now not sca good luck

Yes there is a "character costume parade" at Disneylands Halloween Party. Along with special Fireworks.

We'll be there for only 6 days and flying home right after. So since we have 6 days Park Hopper, we already have our tickets for our entire stay. We can stay up to 7PM at DL. So really 270$ will be for an extra 4 hours in the park for trick or treat, parade and special fireworks....:confused3

It's less than $70 an hour for your family to have an experience not available 355 days out of the year, but you will be there for one of the few days it is. It is an experience many others don't get because they can't travel at that part of the year or would rather go during times school is out or everyone is off on holiday.
I can't imagine being there and shrugging it off, walking out of DL at 7pm, walking by treat trails I won't take part in, hearing booms from fireworks I can't really see, unless I was pretty confident we would get another chance in, say, less than five years. I'm coming from across the border, from more than 4000 kilometers away, like you, and I don't want to say I let a good opportunity pass me by. :)

If I'm there that time of year, we go. The parade is fun but doesn't compare to WDW (IMO). But still - the music, lighting, fireworks, interaction with characters and shorter ride lines is fun. Plus for us - we have local friends who meet us for the party only so we have had a great time!
