I have never been to Universal or IOA so please bear with me and the silly questions........

I would like to go for 5 days with my children. Is this something we can do and will actually enjoy? What I mean is it will be 1 adult and 4 kids( ages 9, 8, 7 & 6) so since we have an uneven number will there be a lot of stuff we wont be able to do ( if they require an adult to ride with a child on some things) or is there enough other things we could all do together to make it worth it ?

I plan on getting the 2 day/ 2 park passes with the kids free & 3 days free option but if there isnt much we can do since we have an uneven number & small children will it really be worth it to spend that kind of money on tickets or not ?

Thanks in advance

Hi and welcome!

We just got back from Universal and there is a lot to do. The parks close early now. IOA closes at 7pm and US at 8pm. :sad2:

There are lots of rides for younger kids and for those more adventurous types.

You don't have to ride with the kids on most rides. They can sit together and you could ride with the one who needs the most comforting (if it's a scary ride or show). pirate:

Go to the web site and check out the rides. There is Suess Landing for younger ones and Super Hero Island for the older ones.

Will you be staying off site or on site?
Will you be driving to the park each day?

Take your time and enjoy yourself. There is a flex pass that gives you tickets
to SeaWorld and Wet N Wild. That way you have more variety. We went to
Universal for three days and had a blast. Everyone voted to sleep late on the fourth day (that we were leaving) so we did not go to the park, but we would
have had time to visit one park and do a couple of things before our 12 noon departure time.

*** There seems to be less people on the Universal boards, so you may not get as many replies as you do when you post on the Disney boards. ***

Any more questions???

Ask away... :surfweb:

there is plenty for young ones at both parks. I cannot remember seeing any signs saying children must be accomapanied, but there probably are some, think you know yourself what children would need your attention and like imwithgoofy said you usually get sitting together, even if it is 3 in front with 2 behind.

To the OP:
You will find plenty to do with your kids...all ages. Fun for young and fun for older. You will be able to see and do it all also.....especially if you stay onsite. IF you stay onsite, you will enjoy yourselves much more....as it's more relaxing w/ your hotel key card for your Express Pass use. There isn't any (or much) an adult has to sit with a child to ride and most "family" rides are 2 seats together or in a row anyway. Check out www.allearsnet.com for more descriptions of rides and height checks....and, please ask us questions...there isn't anyone here who won't help you.... :wave2:

I actually think having less peeps here is better. When I visit the "Disney" end of the boards, I get overwhelmed anymore.

Thank you so very much! I will check out the websites and then probably purchase my tickets online tomorrow :)

We will more than likely be staying offsite.

I thought I read something about some halloween stuff, will that close down any of the rides ? We plan on going the last week of Sept.

None of the rides in Islands of Adventure will be closed for the Halloween stuff (Halloween Horror Nights).
In Universal Studios "Fear Factor Live" and I believe Back to the Future will be closed...that's all of I heard of so far though...
Chances are you will be spending alot of time in Woody's Kidzone while you are there (at Studios) anyway...so it probably won't affect you to much!
Just be aware that because of Halloween Horror Nights, Universal Studios will be closing at 6pm to day guests on event nights.

Also, I'd just like to suggest that you definitly check out Camp Jurassic in Islands of Adventure, if you go. It's basically like a huge playground (lots of climbing, slides, water guns, caves to explore etc...) that's alot of fun...I'm 22 and my parents and I played in there for about 2 hours last Decemeber :)

I agree, less is okay, just sometimes (when I first joined) I would wonder why I got so few replies to a question or comment. :wave2:
