I would have to say that
Trail's End is on my stay-away from list, which is a shame since we usually stay in a cabin. The first time we went was the worst; the buffet only had half the items it should have. The second time, which I went to reluctantly but we were coming back from the park, I was with my dad, and everybody was hungry. It wasn't as bad, but still not great... they just don't have a large buffet. At least the service wasn't bad the second time, but how hard is it to provide service at a buffet? (pretty hard apparently from other buffet experiences).
The last time we went, which was earlier this month, we went to the
Rose & Crown and it was absolutely the worst!! We were seated near the entrance, which is a horrible place to be seated; its noisy and you can't see anything but the plastic tarp that hangs over the edge. We were seated next to a couple with an about 7 year old boy. They didn't order him anything to eat and let him run around like an idiot. He actually ran into me once and they were completely oblivoius. Are all Europeans like that? I don't know.
My wife ordered a soup. When our entrees came out, about 30 minutes later, they said the soup would be right out. A while later the waitress came by to say they were making a new batch. It never showed up. Then THEY TRIED TO CHARGE ME FOR IT!

I ordered a steak and it showed up well done, instead of medium. Do they even really write down how you want your steak or do they just burn everybody's to a crisp?
My first experience there was magical. It was New Years Eve a couple of years ago outside with a perfect view of the fireworks show. But this was
just a joke. Probably won't go back.
What recourse do you have if the service and food is crap? For what one pays, I expect more from the experience.
