Worst Restaurants

There's been lots of negative comments about dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern ... but I can vouch that their lunch time food is WONDERFUL!!!

San Angel CS in MHO is the worst. The food was super greasy. I had a taco and when I picked it up grease oozed out :crazy2: . I do have to say that they have good margaritas. I know that a lot of people like Prime Time.
DH and I did not. The food here was lukewarm and greasy and the service was lacking.
DH and I will not return to either except for maybe a margarita :drinking1 .

My most disappointing meal was at Brown Derby. The server was great;
the atmosphere lovely (on the patio); but the food was just ordinary, and
the portions were very small. It would have been fine if it hadn't been so
expensive!

I agree also about California Grill. Portion sizes were so small and i don't eat much to begin with; it wasn't even enough for me. Also tend to agree with Liberty Tree Tavern, the mac and cheese IS tv dinner quality...stouffers, that is. the pot roast is to die for there, however. Whispering Canyon is good if you like dried out and smoked flavor! :sad2:

I'm surprised. I am a big eater and didn't have any issues with portion size... Although to be fair, I was on DP, so I had the Sushi appetizer and Dessert. Felt full but not stuffed.

Wow, I'm surprised so many people mention getting sick after eating something at Disney. Our worst meal by far was Tony's. The food was really bad, the service was not great either, but that I can live with as long as I'm eating good food. I can not stress how yucky the food was. For my husband not to eat something it has to be really bad.

Big River grill was not that great, but it was edible. We won't be returning however.

The worst resturanant has to be Trail's End Buffeteria. The only thing that was good was the chicken. Everything was cold and old, yuck.

The places that had mediocre food that I would not return to were:
Marrakesh- really boring food
Lotus Blossum Cafe
The noodle station-greasy

Service was especially bad during the free dining period last year. All the CMs were assuming you were on free dining, so the service was terrible everywhere. It may have been because they were understaffed, but you were lucky to get a drink refill.

i may be in the minority here, but my worst restaraunt is Hollywood and Vine at MGM. Bad Food and Bad Atmosphere. I hear they are going to make into a Toy Story Character Buffet; hopefully that will change things. :guilty: pirate:

Had undercooked rotisserie chicken that made our DS sick at the ASM food court-it took a day out of our park touring as he vomited about 18 hours.

Don't really care for the pizza at Pizza Planet-tastes like frozen reheated stuff.

Wulfgang Puck's express at Downtown Disney-another yuk.

Right off-hand, the only place I can think of where I didn't like the food was Akershus at Norway. Also the Tusker House restaurant in Animal Kingdom needs a bigger selection or something.

Alfredos, Alfredos, Alfredos - ick.
Chef Mickeys
Tony's at MK
Mama Melrose

Fulton's Crab House. Tried it 3 different times over the years. Service ranged from inattentive to downright surly; food from incorrect to inedible, and spent an hour arguing over an incorrect bill the last (and I do mean LAST) time...

Italy in Epcot -- It might be called Alfredo's but I can't remember. The food was awful even for DH and I but my dd and ds couldn't even eat anything because everything had cheese or cream in it and they are allergic to milk based products. They had charging privileges so they ditched us and went somewhere else to eat.

Whispering Canyon -- honestly the food might have been good but the service was awful and there were children running around screaming and playing. After happily waiting for a half hour for a table and looking forward to it we left after 10 minutes. We still hadn't been brought our drinks, some kids ran under our table to hide when the waiters came clanging through yelling, other kids were playing cowboys and indians with other waiters so they were running around yelling. It was a mess -- definately not a place to go after a long day at the parks.

The last bad meal I had was at the Commissary at MGM - very icky Chicken Curry, bleccch!

I did the Norway breakfast once, and was less than impressed. There are a lot of restaurants I'd say "eh" to, anything with chicken fingers and fries as the main meal. I think sometimes it depends also on what you order at restaurants - like I ate at the Flying Fish once for dinner, and the steak wasn't too great (at least not that evening).

We must of gotten lucky at Tony's... we loved it, and had a great server, considering the number of tables she was handling. It was PACKED when we went (this during the slow season???), and we didn't have a PS (just decided to check it out), and waitied 30 minutes (not terrible, but the waiting room was full). The food was EXCELLENT, and the waitress, who seemed to be handling about 15 different tables all askign for something different, was fairly timely and attentive. Heck, we never saw her leave the main room for more then a few seconds (get in, get the food, get out).

On to my bad experiences though... only have 2....

1 - And I am sad to say this, since I haven't seen anyone else... but Ohana's.
It was horrible. our waitress treated us like dirt. She gave my wife a piece of RAW pork, and when it was pointed out, didn't even offer a clean plate! :crazy2: The food was decent, but we just didn't enjoy it.

2 - Boatwrights - but the more I think of it the more I am willing to try again. We had the first ressie in the morning, we were seated first, yet somehow our waitress decided to sit and chat with some other customers who were apparently friends without even giving us water. When we FINALLY got attention, and ordered, the appetizer (breakfast appetizer, but still) came quick. Unfortunately, so did our main meal. We had our appetizers less then three minutes before our real food came out - not enough to enjoy it.

But the food WAS good. just bad experience.

I have to agree with the comment about being disappointed with Capt. Cook's in Poly. I had only ever stayed at PORiverside, where there's a great food court - lots of choices, tons of seating, etc.... When we went to POLY for our honeymoon, I was disappointed that we either had to do a sit down restaurant OR just pick up something quick in a little store. We are going to WL in March and I know I'm worried that we won't be completely happy with Roarin' Forks for a "quickie breakfast, especially since half of it is supposedly closed. The food courts are the ONE thing the mod resorts have over the Deluxes. JMHO.

Very interesting to read everyone's likes and dislikes. I haven't had any horrible experiences, but remember thinking the CS food in Adventurelnad (mexican) was really bad. We also thougth Pecos Bill wasn't great and I'm not exactly picky when it comes to fast food.

We are having a Character breakfast at Chef Mickeys and after reading this thread, I hope it's good! ;)

Boma. We were not impressed. Almost everything tasted like it had cinnamon and/or cloves in it. That's just wrong, unless its a dessert, IMO.

Toy Story Pizza Planet - by far the worst pizza we have had anywhere - in WDW or out!! :sad2:
