Worst Restaurants in EPCOT

It's hard to chose between San Angel Inn, Marakesh or Nine Dragons.

Having been to good Morrocan restaurants in France (and my wife lived in Algeria for a few years, which is very similar food), Marakesh's food wasn't very authentic.

Nine Dragons was mediocre Chinese food at best.

The winner I think though is San Angel Inn. The first time we went there in 1997 it was fantastic, the second time a couple of years later it was still very good. Last year it was awful, we were very disappointed. The service was terrible and the food was nothing like it was before.

disneynay - Give Chef's de France a second chance, the food is very good, authentic French Cafe food. Maybe it was just an off day, or you picked something that just wasn't to your taste.

Of the other placed mentioned, we have been to Alfredo's for a late lunch every time we go to WDW, and it's been fantastic every time :rotfl2:

Oh Great!!! We are going to Marakeesh. The kids picked it because they want to see the belly dancers...lol. Is there anything "safe" on the menu for me to choose?

My then 12 year old son and i ate there (Marrakesh) a couple of years ago and found the food to be fine...friendly service and the belly dancer was quite a novelty for my son! Sorry but I do not remember what either of us ate...I am sure it was nothing too adventurous for either of us!

Actually, Marakeesh was one of my favoriates in EPCOT. We had a very good meal and the belly dancer didn't hurt the atmosphere.

I'm with CindyBella....AKERSHUS for lunch..............just don't do it! :rotfl:
I laughed out loud because a few years ago my husband , SIL and her BF went there for lunch..big mistake! The food was not very good and there wasn't much I would eat. Plus, it was a buffet at the time, (I don't know if it still is )and every drink, including refills was charged for, as were the desserts. Talk about expensive! We were much more naive then and so we didn't know that everything was going to be ala carte except for the meal. You know, you think, oh a buffet, everthing is incuded or at least everything but the desserts. Wrong! At the end my SIL had the bill in her hand and we asked her how much it was she said "It's $95.00." We started laughing becuase we thought she was kidding. Nope, our bill was $95 for a very unsatisfying lunch!!! Never again!

BIRDS kept flying into the restaurant!

You can say that again! I like the food at Nine Dragons but I was kinda wondering about those birds too.

We didn't care for San Angel at Mexico. The food was small & not very tasty. The kids dish was so tiny we had to get my kids hot dogs later because they were still hungry.( & they are not big eaters).

However the atmosphere is wonderful & if you have never been there, I say go once & see how you like it. Also take the boat ride..fun!

Akershus dinner - Double Yuck
Rose and Crown - Yuck. Was expecting an excellent Bangers and Mash and it was so mushy and tasteless. Yuck...
San Angel wasn't as bad as I thought but it was so expensive that it's not worth it.

San Angel is bad and the outdoor cantina is even worse! I agree with the person who said their salsa at the outdoor cantina is nothing more than thin ketcup. Truly gross!

Don't worry, the food wasn't 'bad', it just wasn't what we expected having eaten a lot of Moroccan food. Like a lot of country's food, it seemed to have been changed for local tastes. For most people that would probably be a good thing as they may find the original too spicey.

It was probably unfair of me to put it on a list of worst, it was more just not what we hoped for.

July 2005 - DH and DD love chinese food, so I planned on Lotus Blossum for lunch. Big mistake. Their rice bowls were just awful. DH had the beef rice bowl and could not eat it, and he eats anything. He took it back to the counter and asked for the chicken rice bowl which was still gross, but at least edible. This is my one regret for dining choices. I thought Chinese would be a nice change from all that we had eaten that week. It wasn't authentic, it wasn't americanized, it was just plain gross. Panda Express has better food.

San Angel twice for lunch. FIrst time we thought was a fluke, we'd eaten there years ago and it was pretty good. Second time was almost inedible, plus skimpy portions. Our server was impossible to track down, no refills on sodas or water, rice was hard and dry, as was the chicken. She was quite prompt with the check though! :) :)

coral reef....expensive, and not good
fish and chips from the counter service in England. awful!

Biergarten in Germany!! My dad was so keyed up to try this place because he loves German food. I thought I loved German food too until I ate here. To me, everything at Biergarten tastes exactly the same and has a very strong "hot dog dipped in rancid vinegar" aftertaste. I spent the next 24 hours after eating here re-experiencing my meal every time I belched (and unfortunately, that was quite requently). My dad and son (two years old at the time) LOVED this place however.

I would have to say coral Reef - overcooked seafood, bad service - noisy and dirty - and over priced. MyDH would say Akershaus - which I loved.

We have been to Marrakesh on five different occasions for lunch and we have never had an bad experience. DW, DS, twin DD's and I have always found something that we like, the service is great and the atmosphere interesting. Don't worry about your trip to Marrakesh.

Marakesh is my favorite. I would have to agree that it probably isn't very authentic, but we love it!

My husband got food poisoning at San Angel Inn. The food was very bland. And yes, I do know that it is not supposed to be Tex-Mex type food!

We didn't like the Rose and Crown. We got the beef, and should have gotten fish and chips. Yorkshire pudding - weird. Just not our type of food.
