Worst Movies

I wasn't a fan of Kingdom of Heaven. I nearly fell asleep watching it in the theatre. DH enjoyed it and wants to get the extended edition. :scared1:

Napolean Dynamite was so overrated IMO.

The worst I have seen was Ethan Hawke's version of Hamlet. I love Shakespeare, especially Hamlet. I've been obsessed with the play since I was in high school. And I'm not opposed to modern versions of the play (i.e that modern version of Romeo & Juliet with DiCaprio and Danes didn't bother me). But this had to be the WORST version of Hamlet I've ever seen.

Was it just me, or did Ripley Scott borrow not only Orlando Bloom and Marton Csokas, from Peter Jackson and Lord Of The Rings. But also most of the props and action scenes?

It seems that way doesn't it?

DH loves it....but then again, he's all about that time in history. He loves learning all about the Crusades.

The worst movie i rented was Battlefield Earth, I wanted to take the dvd and bury it in my backyard, it's the kind of movie you put on when you get unwelcome vistors who invited themselves over and you want them to leave and never come back!

My DH and I walked out of "Date Movie" and they gave us tickets for a different show. So we saw Nanny McPhee instead. Much better. Oh and to the above poster, I would have walked out on "Lost in Translation" but DH had it on DVD and made me watch it.

Idle Hands. Trailers made it look like a dark comedy, and maybe it was meant to be, but it was too dark, nowhere near enough comedy, and a WHOLE lot of stupidity.

Worst movie of all time -- Battlefield Earth. What was John Travolta thinking?

How about Solaris? I didn't walk out of it -- I slept through it. Best nap I had in years!

I've walked out on Message In a Bottle and Wing Commander. Two wastes of film.

The one movie I wish I had walked out on and didn't was The English Patient. How that won the Oscar for Best Picture remains a mystery to me. :confused3 I am still traumatized by the wretchedness of it. :scared:

I loved message in a bottle....very ery good

Scenes from a Mall....terrible....Also 13th warrior was bad.....as was unbreakable

Wing Commander...Worst Movie ever made and even my Sci-fi Dh could not say anything about it except "It wasn't THAT bad"

Really, I thought it was a monumental waste of film but OK...:confused3

I rented a movie with Mathew Broderick that was "the Night we Never Met" and all my friend and I could say was we wished it was called The Movie we DIDN'T rent...:rotfl2: It was un-watchable.

As for one I will get Flamed for, Narnia...Being French, I never read the book as a child and even though it was cool looking, I was hoping for more...popcorn::

I've walked out on two movies - The Beach and Must Love Dogs. Both horrible.

DH and I rented Talladega Nights and I walked into the other room...does that count? I usually love Will Ferrel but that was horrible!

We have stopped lots of DVD's, but I have only every walked out of one movie - The Hard Way with Michael J Fox. It was awful!

Denae

We rented Closer with Clive Owen and Julia Roberts. Kept watching for awhile thinking it had to get better. It didn't. I was even embarrassed to be watching it with my husband. Yikes!

Calendar Girls- I had really high hopes for this movie, but it was awful. I usually enjoy English movies, but for some reason, I couldn't understand a word of what anyone was saying.:confused3 On top of that, it was an extremely slow moving story.

Shallow Hal- I didn't find it funny at all, and I'll never unsee that little tail wiggling around on the back of the guy at the end of the movie.:scared1:

RV- Again, not funny. I'm not sure why I kept watching this movie right to the end. I hated it after the first five minutes.

Blair Witch Project- I wanted to like this movie. I wanted to be scared. I didn't and I wasn't.

Amityville Horror (the original)- We bought this on DVD and watched it as a family one night. We were screaming throughout the movie; with laughter, not fright.:lmao: We laughed ourselves silly throughout the entire movie. Every little thing the actors did or said, would send us into gales of laughter. We also kept ourselves in stitches with our own hilarious commentary. Well, WE thought we were hilarious.:rotfl2:

I mean no disrespect to the real family that the movie is based on, and I'm sure the movie industry took a few liberties here and there with the true story, but we felt no sympathy toward the people in the film. In fact, we felt they got what they deserved for being so stupid and staying more than two seconds in that house after the first weird thing happened. Even the front of the DVD box screams the words- FOR GOD'S SAKE, GET OUT!!! Those were the same words I was screaming at the actors when I was watching the movie.:lmao:

Talladega Nights- I can't think of one thing I liked about this movie. I thought it was sad and pathetic, and not the least bit funny. We saw it in the theatre, and I remember sitting there incredulous that people were actually laughing. There was a guy sitting in the row in front of me and he was in absolute hysterics.:confused3 I guess it just proves that not everyone finds the same things funny. He was laughing so hard that I started laughing at his laugh! It was contagious.:lmao:

Shelter Island- For some reason, I didn't exactly understand the relationships in this movie from reading the back of the DVD box. Let's just say that it wasn't exactly what I was expecting. I thought the description of the movie sounded good, so I made everyone watch it with me. I thought it would be a really good, scary movie. It wasn't. The rest of the family hated the movie and they haven't quite let me live this one down. Whenever I say I know of a good movie coming out, or one that I want to see, they bring up Shelter Island.:lmao:

Hands down one of the worst ever was Oscar with Sylvester Stallone. I have no idea why we even went to the theater to see it. About a half hour in, I looked at Joe, he looked at me, and we both instantly stood up and just walked out without a word.
