Hi I'm always on the VMK boards but since me, my mom, and my dad had a really bad experience at WDW on the monirail. It was a nice Dec. day at WDW and we were going to get to go to Concourse Steakhouse via the monirail from the MK. It was crouded, very, and I was trying to get onto the monirail along with my family. So I tried to get around a lady who had cut infront of us while getting on. Well, my view was of her back so I could not see if she was pregnent or not ( which she was ) and Oh My Gosh she blew up at me! Its kinda a blur to me now but she was yelling at me and my mom big time and my mom was there for me all the way. When we got off my mom said that everybody was staring at the lady and I think they felt sorry for us.

It's one of my first times posting on this board so I was kind of afraid.

P.S If you find any typos please dont flame me

Hey, who hasn't mistyped something, sometime?

Sorry about your experience on the monorail. Hopefully, that wasn't your first time. If so, keep trying. Different times of the day yield different trips.

Next time, remember to ask to ride in the front.

Marie

So sorry you had a bad experience on the monorail. I know it's frustrating when people cut you off and you get separated from the rest of your party. She shouldn't have pushed in front of you. I'm sure if you knew she was pregnant, you would have been more careful about trying to get around her. I hope it didn't ruin your Disney experience.

Pregnant or not, she needed a good berating in her face.

>>> worst ... ever

I'm glad I wasn't on the monorail (read about the incident some years ago) that got stalled between stations high above ground and the air conditioning stopped and and people had to either swelter on board or climb down ladders.

There's this group called Action America down in Houston; they have been complaining that Houston should have put in a monorail instead of a trolley line. I mentioned the preceding in one of their forums. Do a Google search for "wham bam tram".

I bet that was upsetting for you!!! I would have upset me too!!

Don't be afraid to post over here, we won't bite!!!:wizard:

PREGNANT OR NOT, NO ONE HAS A RIGHT TO BEHAVE SOOOO BADLY!!!!!!!!!
And, I have had THREE children! HHHMMMMPPPHHH!!:headache:

Sorry you had such a rotten experience!!

WOW, I would have been as upset as you. She had no right. Just be happy you didn't have to go home with her:scared1:

I too am sorry for your bad experience. She shouldn't have cut between you & your parents. I glad your mom stuck up for you though. When my kids were younger I would always make sure to hold their hands in any type of line or large group of people & you would be surprised how often people would try to cut through us. I would never let go of those little hands & made sure they knew they were wrong. Don't let it be your memory of your trip though remember the good times.

I agree- Next time ask if your could ride in the first car with the driver & remember to take a picture(we always forgot to)

and typos-who cares:goodvibes

sorry for your experience.....

and there are always two sides to every story....

I am sorry you had that experience. Not sure I understand what the hatefulness was all about. That woman, preggo or not, had no right to be so hateful, tho.

I find on vacation a lot of time, pregnant women (not all) act like they are queens and everybody needs to kiss their bottoms.

Hormones I suppose!

I was so sick with my daughter, I never went anywhere to behave that poorly.....but, I hope if I ever get pregnant again (doubtful) I don't act like that. :)

Sorry again you had that experience.

Omg... :scared1: That sounds awful!

Sorry you had such a bad experience. I think our worst monorail experience happened back when my sister and I were kids (I think she was about 5 or 6) and they had the old monorails with the windows that opened. The window closed on her finger and gave her a nasty cut (but, then, she shouldn't have had her hand out the window in the first place, should she?). It all worked out OK in the end, but she had a sore hand the rest of the trip.

Sorry for your experience but I am the Queen of the One Line ComeBacks to Rude People. One I would have used here - "I'm sorry, I thought the Earth revolved around the sun and not you, pardon me for my mistake". That would have embarrassed the heck out of her and probably gotten you a few snickers from the other people in the car. And you would not have been rude to her.

Our worst time on the monorial was not at a crowded time but when we stepped into a car just as it was leaving the station and realized that someone had peed in the corner. You could smell it as soon as the doors closed and when I looked around the car I saw the puzzle. We changed cars quickly at the next stop (it was the resort monorail) and when we got off we told the CM at the station. I just can't believe someone would pee and leave a puddle and not mention it to anyone so it could be taken care of, I can understand a child having an accident but it is very irresponsible not to tell anyone.

About 4 years ago, I was waiting for the monorail at the MK stop. It was very crowded as it was near park closing. While I was in line, an adult woman started hitting a young girl (probably 9-11 years old) near the doors to one of the cars. She was screaming that the girl had cut in front of her. The girl's elderly grandfather tried to stop the altercation but the woman was out of control. Two other men in the car had to restrain the woman until cast members and WDW security could get there. I could not believe what I was seeing. I, along with the people around me, saw that the little girl had not cut in line and she did not try to hit back at the woman once the altercation began. Disney stopped the monorail for several minutes and escorted the woman away from the platform. I don't know what happened to her after that. I must say that Disney cast members were quick to respond. I felt so sorry for the girl and her grandfather! The girl was shaken up but fortunately didn't suffer any injuries.

 :crazy2:

Yikes, it seems someone thought they were on a subway.

Sorry to the OP... not meaning to undermine your experience in any way, but my monorail story was far worse than that.

We were on the monorail (packed, might I add) and this horrible noise was coming from under our car. Sounded like a blown tire. So we stopped inside of the Contemporary to fix it, but they wouldn't let us out or anything. I think it was because some of the cars were still outside of the terminal (and one button opens all doors?) We were stuck in there for close to 2 hours, and it got awfully claustrophobic.

To make matters worse, I was a young teenager and my dad mortified me by making faces like he was swimming in a fish tank and saying help me! to the people standing in line to board the monorail... guess he was trying to make them laugh, but I was so embarrased!

It was the silver monorail. We affectionately call it the "silver bullet" now.

My sister would say that the worst story would be when she was about 1 1/2 and we were on the monorail. She was sitting there in her umbrella stroller drinking her bottle when the doors at the Contemporary opened, she dropped the bottle, it rolled out, and fell all the way to the bottom of the building. She cried and cried and cried. She's 11 now and we always tease her saying that we can still see the bottle down there. It drives her crazy.

My worst monorail experience....Summer of 05, DSS is 8 and DSD is barely 4. We are standing at the monorail preparing to leave the parks for the night. The doors open and DSS heads into the monorail. For whatever reason, there are already people in there so DSS quickly disappears into a crowd. DH makes it just inside when the doors start closing on DSD. DH looks at me like 'what should I do'. I grab DSD and pull her back and tell DH to just go (since DSS is on there somewhere). Well the doors close and the monorail starts leaving. DSD starts crying and screaming 'Daddy' like someone is trying to kill her. Of course I do all that I can to comfort her as she continues to sob. Finally I asked her if she wanted to ride in the front of the monorail and that helped a little. She was still crying when we met up with DH at the next stop though.
