Worst Meals at WDW?

Oh no. I've been dying to try Jiko.

Definitely try out Jiko. It regularly makes the "top 5" lists of many, many posters on these boards (including my own). I am sorry that the one poster had a bad experience, but that seems to be more the exception than the rule.

As to the original topic, I have been to just about every resort TS restaurant at least once. The only place that I will not return to is ESPN Club. I have been there on several occasions and it has always been terrible. Over the years, I would keep trying to give it another chance, only to be disappointed again. So after my most recent bad experience (which was over 3 years ago), I decided to never go there again.

Yakitori House in Epcot. Only went once and could not force myself to eat whatever it was I was served, will not go back.

(That said, normally I would give a place a second chance as it could have been a fluke and the food could normally be very good, but I can get "good, authentic" Japanese food anytime, so I see no point in going back there.)

Hm... I would agree with PP on the Garden View Tea Room. The food wasn't good, not bad but nothing screamed "I need more!" There were two ladies there serving us, our table and another group were the last ones there so they were closing things down which is tacky for any restaurant imo to be closing down the dining room, especially in a small restaurant... and I work in a restaurant!

We were rushed in everything we had, one of the ladies was very nice but was doing the rushing. The other ladie was not nice, and I don't know if she knew what nice was... and she was the one closing down the rest of the restaurant. When it came to picking our dessert pastries, we were so so so limited in our choices since they were closing and apparently were not going to be making any more.

And fwiw, it wasn't even 4pm when we got there.

I'm not a picky eater and generally enjoy the WDW food. However, you'd have to drag me kicking and screaming back to ABC Commissary. It was terrible. The only time I've ever considered taking food back and demanding a refund.

I did not care for Garden Grill, but it wasn't awful and my daughter liked the characters. That's the only other one that I don't remember with at least ambivalence, if not fondness!

Whispering Canyon. Just didn't care much for the food (it wasn't terrible, just not great) and the restaurant was LOUD.

Tony's. Worst service I've ever had at WDW, but that was also four years ago.

I feel lucky: I don't think I've ever had a truly atrocious meal at WDW. Never had anything that upset my stomach, thankfully, and sorry to hear about others' bad experiences.

50's Prime Time. I was so looking forward to the meal and the atmosphere, but we got a waitress who didn't play along and hardly ever even came to our table. I ordered the salmon and my boyfriend ordered the meatloaf. Our food literally came out about 5 minutes after we ordered it and it wasn't very hot. And I understand that there is a limited amount of items on the menu, but it something just doesn't sit right about my food probably already being plated when I order it at a table service restaurant. The dessert was delicious, but the actual meal was definitely the most disappointing meal on my whole trip.

I have done Chef Mickey's twice and it went from bad to worse. The service was horrible and we saw all the characters except Minnie very quickly then had to wait an hour to see Minnie. I would have left but DD was dressed as Minnie and would have been devastated. I'll have to see Mickey and Minnie elsewhere.

Tony's is pretty bland. The meatballs were inedible. But we sat outside and ate lunch and it was a nice view to people watch Main Street.

Went to 1900 PF in Oct of 2007 and I loved it. We went again last Dec and I hated it. The Step Mother and Sisters were the highlight of our meal. The food was really disappointing. We are going to skip it next trip.

I wont say that we will never go back but places that I was disappointed in were:

ABC Commissary
San Angel Inn (my husband says I make better Mexican food)
Sci Fi

We will never go back to Coral Reef, the food was equally as awful as the service. Not that crazy about SciFi either. The rest of our TS meals have been very enjoyable. Have a great trip!

I can't really say I wouldn't return to any particular restaurant in Disney... but I can say the most "blah" meals have been all the CS restaurants in DHS. I easily get bored there...

It's amazing how 100 people can eat at the same restaurant and have 100 different experiences.

Definately will NOT go back is ABC commissary and Garden Grill.

We also had a bad experience the last time we went to the 50's prime time cafe. Our server was awful, the only thing she said to us the whole time was, "yummy yummy". It was awful. But the two times i went before that was great, so i'm chalking it up to a bad waitress and not the restaurant.

I think Sci-Fi has the worst food. Fun place to go, though. Food, ick.

I'm at WDW 3x/year for business and I am also a hard core foodie (I test recipes for a national magazine.) Other than ABC Commissary, I've not had a meal that was inedible. Here are the places I have no plans to return to:

ABC Commissary
Hollywood & Vine-used to be good, used to
O'Hana-food was OK (nothing more) service was poor
RFC-hands down the Worst Service I have EVER gotten anywhere. Tried it 3 times and it worsened each time. Last time in 2.5 hours half of our party never got their food.
Kona-good food, but poor service has ruined the last two meals, so much so that I will not be back. Addressed the issue with the manager, never saw her again. Took over 30 minutes just to get the check.
Akerhaus-was grand pre-princess

DO try Jiko IF you are even a moderately adventurous eater. Try Boma first and if you don't like anything there, don't do Jiko, but it is my fave along with Artist Point.

Narcoossee - horribly long wait for our ADR, server was mostly unseen, and the food was terrible!

Marrakesh - service soso, food was bland and looked like thrown onto the plate from a great height!

Rose and Crown - not very much like the real British food - greasy fish and chips, anemic looking bangers and mash - AND just one "black" tea option!!!

Chef Mickey's - we only went there for breakfast, but the food was lukewarm and not very appetizing - I have to admit it was years ago and we loved the fun atmosphere.
We are not really buffet people either!

I have enjoyed most meals at WDW, but the worst experience was Hollywood and Vine lunch last June. Massively overpriced for the quality, particularly for lunch. It was $14.99 or $15.99 (including high season "surcharge") for my 3 year old son. Ridiculous. The food was the worst at any buffet we have been to at WDW (and we really like buffets generally). Extremely crowded and we waited and waited for 2 of the 4 characters who never showed up until our table and our neighboring table told the server that we were not going to leave until the June and Leo came over, since that is who my son was waiting to see. Glad we did it once for my son since he loved Playhouse Disney, but would never go back.

Worst service was at Yachtman Steakhouse. Had a really snotty waiter with a bad attitude. For the price, I though the food was ok but not comperable to other fine dining places I had been.

I have had other meals that were only so-so, but nothing so bad that I would not give it another chance.

I have a couple of places that we had bad experiences in.

The first is the Rose and Crown. Being Scottish we thought we would give this a try on our 1st trip (2 of our party's 2nd trip). Despite the batter being cooked our fish was still opaque and raw in places. We all sent it back with the same complaint, cook the fish. When we received our replacements the chef came out and asked (quite condesendingly) if it was alright now. It was but none of us really had an appetite for it after that. We went again the next year, waited over an hour to be seated for our ADR (Servers wouldn't move people picking at food to keep seats at Illuminations). Again the fish wasn't cooked!! The next year, being gluttens for punishment, we went back, waited about 30min for our ADR before complaining about those Illuminations foodpickers. I ordered Bangers and Mash (bit oniony but otherwise perfect) as I couldn't stomach fish after previous visits. My DF was suspicious about his fish and so were his DM and DS. We think it was paranoia due to previous visits but gave it a miss last year and will again this year. CS is good though!!
The next one is Whispering Canyon. Me and DF's DS had the nachos, which were lovely. The sausage and cheese plate was tasteless (DF and his DM had this). The mains were just awful. DF had the prime rib, and it was a cheek to call it PRIME!! It was basically a lump of fat with little meat. My dad is a butcher and this was a piece of meat that he would deem inedible. The pasta me and his DS had was too hot to taste anything and the meat loaf was also tasteless (DM had this). Also really noisy why bang whings that loud?? We have never went back.

We also had a bad experience in the YMSH but we are going to give it another go.

Hollywood & Vine-I've eaten there around 4 times (I thought the buffet would be better for DS). I never had a meal there that I liked and now I am DONE!
