Easy for me. Either Carmageddon 64 or Superman 64. I actually thought the cartridge was damaged with Superman, it was so awful. But Carmageddon takes the biscuit. The whole point is to earn points by mowing down people in your car. But in Carmageddon 64, the people are zombies with green blood, their screams are pathetic moans, the AI is ridiculous (think cars reversing down hills backwards and falling into the water for no reason) and the graphics are just awful.

Runners up on the Dreamcast are Spirit of Speed 1937 (largely regarded as a massive joke) and Sonic Shuffle (OK, the visuals are OK, but it's just a shadow of Mario Party - the AI CHEATS nonstop, the mini games are inexplicable and so on).

Real ones know.

The first time I ever went to Universal Hollywood they had a tent set up with Atari 2600s all playing (you guessed it), ET. It was bad. even with someone standing there telling me what I was supposed to be doing it was bad.
I had that ET game on Atari myself... I got it on clearance @Kaybee toys for like $3 when I was a kid. I have no idea how many hours I spent just getting out of a pit. I am not even sure what the point of the game was other than just doing that. I don't think the game even had a point :rotfl2:

It does, but it's really obtuse without the instructions. It's actually pretty simple - find the three phone parts and call for the ship before you run out of energy. The tricky part is that each "space" on the map has an icon associated with it to activate power at the cost of energy. Some powers, like the arrows, warp you one screen in that direction. You can also call Elliot for help and some other stuff I don't really remember. Anyway, there is one space that you use to call once you have the phone, then you have to go to the pickup point (always the same as the drop-off I think - middle of the woods). The FBI guy and scientist will try to catch you, but it really only wastes your energy as you have to walk back to where you were. Honestly, it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if it wasn't so frustrating to get out of the pits! The mechanics and controls for that are just broken. It can be done - you can even get good at it - but it's not really worth it. Still, I know people call it the worst game ever, but it's really not as bad as certain others. I'm not saying it's good mind you - but if you understand it you can actually play it.

That is the most concise description I have ever seen for this game, and I watched the documentary where Ernest Cline found the dump where all the games ended up. Do you have an operable 2600 and are playing the game as you type this?

The Atari boxing was pretty I think was the lamest game I had. It was like an overhead view two stick figures boxing.

I do have a 2600 and this game - have it from when I was a kid. I did know how to play it, though it was always hard. You can play on a lower difficulty where you really won't run out of energy, but the normal game is really tough! Every step depletes energy, so you have to plan a very efficient route to check for the phone parts - and really just get lucky and find them early too. The best thing to do is to find the space that let's you check the screen for a part - it will light up on the pit. It uses less energy than checking each and levitating out (especially if you don't stop yourself from hitting the bottom hard which reduces your energy even more). The thing is that the spaces are random, so you just have to look for them - which in turn uses up your energy. It's a rough design choice.

Count me in on one of the ones that had ET. It made no sense, and was really boring. Plus, ET falling into holes. The only fun thing about this game was that if you kept ET's neck going up and down when the spaceship came to take him home, it would get stuck in the 'up' position and it sounded like he was passing gas all the way up.

I saw a pretty major accident happen back in the day that involved lawn jarts. I wasn't the thrower but that was a very gnarly head wound for sure. Pretty sure they're not even legal anymore, but they were a staple game in my community. Heck, they probably still are.

Edit: Sorry, probably not the type of game you meant. :)
