I didn't vote either. I have only had good experiences with the service at the front desk.

manning-- You failed to notice that YOU didn't get YOUR keys--well, oops! You got a choice of rooms, and you picked the wrong one. I don't see how that could be the fault of the front desk. But they should be flogged for giving extra service above and beyond, and making sure you had enough keys.--imagine! Going above and beyond!! I want a refund on my dues if they are going to give extra service--we all should get basic service, and nothing more!

I do agree that the keys being deactivated is a pain in the neck. However, if the key worked in your room, the problem was probably over at MGM, and was not the fault of the front desk. You mentioned that you had been to the front desk on the day of your departure--did you check out? That is a sure way to deactivate your keys. You are quick to blame the desk staff, but I only saw one error that was surely their fault alone. You are much too stressed out--maybe you need a vacation?::yes::

I couldn't vote. We have always had an easy painless check in experience at both BCV and BWV.

I have stayed 8 times and have only had one totally bad check-in and that was at OKW last May - but it is not enough to make me answer this poll - who has the worst? - because it was only one time, and one time does not a disastrous resort make in my eyes.

Last trip was at BWV and BCV and we had an EXCEPTIONAL check in experience at BCV. Better than I'd ever had at any resort. One CM went above and beyond the call with a mix-up with my room keys and earned a kudos letter from me to WDW. Does it make me want to say BCV is the best? No, because again, it was just one time.

So, put me in the "did not vote" category.

You failed to notice that YOU didn't get YOUR keys

And the CM failed to do her job, give me keys

You got a choice of rooms, and you picked the wrong one.

Supervisor at DVC advised front desk should have pointed out the elevator.

. But they should be flogged for giving extra service above and beyond, and making sure you had enough keys.--imagine! Going above and beyond!!

As new cards are issued, the previous ones are cancelled. Imagine my consternation if we had left for the day and upon return could not get into the room.
!! I want a refund on my dues if they are going to give extra service--we all should get basic service, and nothing more

None asked. Just want proper service provided

. However, if the key worked in your room, the problem was probably over at MGM, and was not the fault of the front desk.

Beach Club staff acknowledged it was their fault.

You mentioned that you had been to the front desk on the day of your departure--did you check out?

Nope, just to get the bill. I would not have had to gone there if proper requested express check out procedure was followed.

Relax folks this is all I'm going to post about this.

I cannot think of any time we had front desk problems at any DVC resort. We have had DVC CMs give exceptional service at the front desk.

One time we were so happy to get our one bedroom unit at OKW on the Sunday after Easter that WE forgot to take our room keys. When we go to the Old Turtle Pond are we realized we did not have them. A WDW security CM was driving by. He radioed the front desk & then offered to go to the front desk to get our new keys. But I think of that time as our error, not the front desk CM.

Did not vote.

We have stayed at nearly all of the WDW resorts. I have noticed differences. But one would expect some variability - we are all human.

Our experience has been very good front desk service property wide. Most often if there is not a line we stay and chat for a while. The front desk staff have always made us feel welcome.

If I must select an extreme, the front desk staff at VB would get the five star award for superlative front desk staff. I should probably drop a note to Jackie because they were truly superb.

I voted for Beach Club...only because when I checked in back in May, I was told I got my room requests (non smoking and Epcot view). Then the guy was talking to me and then he looked at his computer and said (I'm not kidding), "Uh-oh, looks like someone just took your room. I didn't assign it to you yet and while I was talking to you someone else here took it." I was so mad.

I got over it and enjoyed my pool view room which I had to take. I just thought it was a horrible mistake on his part.

My only other experiences have been at VWL and Vero Beach and those were perfect experiences.

In 20 years I can honestly say I've never had a negative experience at the front desk of any Disney Resort.:)

I didn't vote because I can't recall any horrible frint desk experiences at any of the DVC, or for that matter, WDW resorts.

I htink that a lot of the porblem is that WDW raises people's expectations to a very high levell, and unfortunately, no matter how good a place, no one can meet those type of expectations 100% of the time. I also think people get the attitude of "I am paying a lot for this vacation, so it better be perfect."

In general, I find all the CMs at WDW to be great. I have encountered one or two that were less than "Disney-like", but it seems to me that soemone with a truly bad atttitude does not last long there. I try not to let minor inconveniences throw me for a loop when I am on vacation. Room views, key problems etc are fairly small occurences in the grand scheme of life. It never fails that each time I am at WDW, I see a family who has a severely handicapped member, whether it be a child or an adult. That usually tends to put things right into perspective for me.

Manning, I understand the 'elevator' corner room. We had one on our last visit and it was extremely annoying. I had booked this ressie 11 months out and requested Epcot view, upper floor. Well we got the upper floor (5th), but it wasn't Epcot view. If I hadn't booked 11months out this wouldn't have bothered me, but since I had it did.
Anyway, I know what you went through. The elevator noise is incredible and it goes on all night long!

No complaints about Front Office Staff, But housekeeping problems is another thing. Leaving in two days cant wait

No problems for us, but then how does one define a problem. When I read Trip Reports about others who have had problems, I usually don't agree with their perspective.

We are pretty easy going and that seems to work to our benefit.

I didn't vote either because we mostly just stay at OKW. I think, for the most part, the staff there has got better. There have been some good ones during the years, and some god-awful ones. But lately, either they have all got better, or they got rid of the bad ones. They also had some pretty bad staff in the shop, but I haven't seen those ones (him mostly) as of late. I'm glad that things are improving, but it took a while.

Sorry. No vote here. I have no complaints about any of the resort front desk staffs.
