aw everyone needs a hug

I think all that pressure to have a magical vacation kind of pushed us over the edge. Every trip since then has been a million times better. We just returned on Saturday night from our first Disney vacation ever,we were so disappointed with almost every park.Animal Kingdom was the best park we visited. The employees there were very nice and we had a good time.Magic Kingdom was the worst, the people were rude and it was so crowded we couldn't even walk.We rode 2 rides and waited a long time for them. When we went to Epcot we didn't ride anything, with a fast pass the wait for soarin was 6 hours.I would not recommend the Dinosaur ride to anyone that has children that are under the age of 13,this is at Animal Kingdom,it is very scary. We couldn't believe how rude the people are in Florida. We feel like it was a huge waste of money to go to Disney. We have a son who is almost 7 and he even said he didn't ever want to go back.We did take an airboat ride while in Florida that was awesome.I would suggest it to anybody that was going.

My worst trip was in May of 2006 - it was not at all Disney's fault.
My husband of 16 years walked out on us 6 days before our trip. Myself and 3 kids were completely devastated. They of course still wanted to go on the trip and I didn't want them to have anymore heartache. I wasn't a long distance driver, husband always did that. So we loaded in the car, I was stiff as a board driving and they were crying the whole way. We stopped at my dad''s in Jacksonville for 2 nights. My middle son came down with a terrible, terrible stomach bug. When it was time to leave, he was still sick but wanted to go. He slept most of the way and not meaning to give TMI, had god awful gas that we had to keep opening the windows!! Again we were all laughing and crying at the same time. (We had originally booked 2 nights at Pop and 7 nights at POFQ - I didn't have it in me to get to POP on our scheduled day, I called Disney to cancel, told them our story and the kindly refunded those 2 nights w/o any penalty....so nice!!)
Finally arrived and began our vacation. (BTW, husband's brother's family was meeting us for this vacation). The second night at POFQ, I woke up in the night and found blood everywhere.....the floor, sinks, towels, looked like a murder scene. I turn on the lights, and middle son (again) is lying in bed covered in blood. I scream and wake him up, he has no idea what happened. After cleaning him up and noticing his swollen nose and giant cut on his forehead, he remembers falling out of the bed and hitting his head on the side table. I never heard him and I guess he just wandered around the room! When I called for housekeeping, POFQ was great - came right over with "haz mat" gloves and bags and took all the linens and the cleaned the room.
The next day, my oldest son came down with the stomach virus!! Worse than the other son. He was so tired and worn out. I left him in the room alone (he was 14) and took the other 2 to the parks. I would call and check on him and my former bil/sil would check on him when they brought their kids back for naps (the were in the room next door). When he still wasn't better the next day, I went to the little store at POFQ looking for Immodium for him. They had none and called POR who were also out. They offered to have it delivered to my room, but it would take at least 2 hours. Since I had a car, I left all 3 of them in the room (bil was in the room next door checking on them) and I drove to a drugstore (crying and exhausted the whole way!) to get some medicine. He was finally well enough to come to the parks 2 days later. He really didn't have much fun and neither did I considering all we had went through!
We had our "make up" trip this past April and we had a much better time!!

When my daughter was 4, we were staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. On the last day of the trip, my husband and I let her swim in the baby pool while we watched. She convinced us to let her stick her feet in the hot tub and promised that she would not get in. All of a sudden, she fell in the hot tub and because of the jets, could not get above the water. My husband had to jump in fully clothed to save her. She was fine, but my husband's cell phone was ruined. After that, we never let her near the water without a life jacket!
). Anyway, since we are on the topic of worst experience, mine is when I was staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge (when I was much older and tall enough that I wouldn't drown in the hot tub) and we had been in MGM (Hollywood Studios now). Please note that it was really hot that day and I had been in BOTH the Indiana Jones show and Light, Motors, Action. I was feeling sick so we went back to the hotel. It was lunch and we went down to the lobby for our reservation lunch buffet. And, I had gotten heat sickness................... and threw up. I still can't believe that happened

Mine was at the Pirate and Princess party on Aug. 24th last year. Although its not Disney's fault, it did rain and storm all night to the point where it was dangerous to be outside. There was deadly lightning and tornado warnings. Disney went about it all wrong in my opinion because they did not let the guests know what was going on. We weren't sure if the parade or fireworks would go on, plus we didn't know if we could get a refund or exchange our tickets. Every CM we spoke to told us something different. The next day I also found out that lightning struck the fireworks area and there was a fire. Nothing went on as scheduled and no one knew when and if any of the special pirate and princess party events would take place. We left early and found out they did do the fireworks and parade but very late.

I don't remember promising not to get in (I was already in the hot tub on the ledge that you would sit on), and the reason I went stepped off the ledge was because I thought it wasn't deep (3 ft must have been really deep when I was that little). In I went with towel and all... she was fine, only under half a second. We still laugh about it...
I took my kids to Disney in 2006, we had such a fantastic time. We are going back this summer and I am wondering how we can match the last vacation. Seems like already things are going awry. Such as the Disney hours for August not being posted on time and cutting back on the shows, free dining which means fighting for ADRs on day 90. I don't remember being this apprehensive last time. I am sure we will have a good time, we tend to roll with the punches, we are planning (but not overly so), we can't control the weather and will hope for the best. I don't know why I feel this way?
