WORST DISNEY DINING EXPERIENCE

Never truly had a horrible experience but had maybe a couple of sub par ones. Like:

The QS restaurant in the Mexico are. The food there wasn't any better then your average run of the mill fast food joint.

Yachtmans steak house, there steaks were nothing to write home about / sub par. More so they were never cooked right.

Askershus! OMG how bad is this place...horrible! I got sick about an hour after meal. Princess interaction was horrible. We were rushed throght breakfast and then we go the bill...167.99 for three of us! You have to be kidding me! Never, ever, ever, ever, again.

Oh, and we agree about Chef Mickeys...it was filthy and actually gross!
I am laughing with you not at you because the same thing happened to me. I had a pasta dish in a cream sauce I believe and I was ILLER than ILL upon returning to my room. The menu was terrible, I did it for the princesses and boy was my husband MAD at me. I feel like he wished that illness on me for taking him to such a terrible place.

Cinderella's Royale Table was the worst experience apart from my Askershus note above. We were sitting close to the buffet and some kid threw up ALL OVER the floor right next to our table to the point I swear I felt splatter. We were never moved, no one ever said anything to us (I was pregnant at the time) and it was just unpleasant from that point forward.

Via Napoli was my worst experience. It was too loud to hold a conversation with my party and I was not impressed with the pizza for the price. Never again.

It was too loud to hold a conversation with my party
This is one of my biggest restaurant pet peeves. I've been to places that had excellent food and excellent service but I would never go back because of the noise level. That just isn't enjoyable to me. I'm not really sure why anyone enjoys that but apparently lots of people do.

Never a horrible experience but we did not love Mama Melrose. We did the Fantasmic Dinner package and the food was really just ok - the seats were awesome and we didn't have to wait on line to get in to the theater so it was worth it.

We loved Cape May,Crystal Palace, and Askershus character breakfasts. The character breakfast at AK (can't remember the restaurant) had the best character interaction. GF 1900 Park Fare character dinner was good but interaction was limited. Epcot seems to have the best restaurants and Studios the worst. Our favorite place to eat - Columbia Harbour House. Great food and location :)

One of mine too. After a long day at the parks. I want to start calming down and relaxing at dinner.
I don't just mean at Disney. I mean anywhere. A few months ago we got together with another couple we hadn't seen for a long time. We wanted to relax over dinner and catch up but the restaurant we went to was so loud we couldn't hear each other. The meal was truly excellent, but I would hesitate to go there again for just that reason.

Places I have sworn off for bad food, bad service or a combo of both are: Whispering Canyon, Chef Mickey's, Hollywood and Vine, 'Ohana (both meals), Garden Grille, BOG for dinner.

Whispering Canyon, Chef Mickey's, Hollywood and Vine and Ohana are some of my favorites at Walt Disney World. I don't get how they could be that bad, but everything can't be great all the time, I guess.

One of our worst meals was at Coral Reef. From the start (had a reservation and still have to wiat 30+ minutes to be seated), the service was awful, we did noty receive refills on our beverages and we typically ordewr coffee with our dessert, and we got charged double dining credits. Thank full we caught it before we went for our last meal. The food was mediocre at very best. We ate there for my husbands birthday dinner because he wanted seafood and he said he would have rather have eaten at Red Lobster and he detests that place. Other than that we have enjoyed all of our other meals.

Chef Mickey at an 11:30 sitting. Buffet very dirty, Server unpleasant, and extremely expensive. NEVER again

Tony's Town Square - worst Italian food I've ever had
Chef Mickey' s - my 7 yr old DD vomited after eating there (on two different trips! & she was fine the entire rest of the time & no, it's not b/c she overate)

Our worst customer service experience was breakfast at Kona, the waiter acted like he didn't want to be there, messed up our order and didn't come back to ask us about it, we had to get a manager to get it fixed. Worst experience was at Coral Reef because I have an allergy and when the chef came out he had an attitude and treated me like I was making the whole thing up.

It's hard to believe it happened. I wouldn't believe it either but it did happen. It was really strange, made for a good laugh.
This happened to me once! Thankfully not at Disney! A waitress flirted really hard with my then-boyfriend, and when our meals came out... Mine was in a to-go box and my drink was in the child-sized to-go plastic cup :( And believe me, he did NOT have Rolex (or much of anything else to warrant that kind of a reaction).

Whew, finished this thread! I'm surprised by seeing Sci-Fi mentioned so frequently, makes me nervous for my next trip... I haven't been in 5 years and it has always been a favorite for good-enough food and fun theming. I've never had an outstanding meal there, but never had a bad one, either. Hopefully it hasn't slipped in that time.

To be honest, I've never had a truly BAD experience with food at Disney. Gumbo at Boatwright's didn't agree with me years ago, but that's about the worst I can think of to complain about. However, I agree with some comments that there are restaurants that are worth skipping over for, if not being bad, being blah. I gave up on CRT a decade ago, and it sounds like I haven't missed much! Food was always aggressively mediocre, and the experience never made up for it in my opinion. Tony's was a favorite from childhood, my last trip will probably be my last for a few years; the food just isn't up to par.

The only truly *disappointing* meal that still stands out to me is Coral Reef. I was really looking forward to the experience, and everything fell flat, from the food to the service, and even the atmosphere. Sure, the fish tank is cool, but that's about all I thought it had going for it. That being said, nobody was actively rude to us, and the food was edible even though I didn't particularly enjoy it. I live in CA's wine country so maybe I am spoiled by all of our good dining options, and I really don't expect my Disney dining experiences to be the best I have all year, but I want to at least enjoy my meal, whether it's because of the food, the service, or the theming. If all three fall flat... I'll give the restaurant a pass on my next trip and try something else out next go around.

My worst was probably Tony's and not because of the food. I really had to use the restroom and the one just outside the restaurant only has two stalls. The line was only 4 people but they all took FOREVER. By the time I got back to the table our food had been brought out and mine was cold and I missed the card and congratulations for our honeymoon. Literally spent more time in line for the bathroom than the entire meal. A restaurant that busy that is in that location needs larger bathrooms
