You have GOT to do it!!!! But if you want to 'win' (a spot on the show), you know this attempt at your spaghetti pie has got to be REALLY bad. And I mean BAD bad - not slang 'bad', as in good!!!! I've had spaghetti pie - my mom used to make it all the time - and it can be really good. What doesn't your son like about it? What were some of his other unfavorites, and what doesn't he like about them? Is it really your cooking, or is it his tastes?
Last few times I had to throw it out. It's a BIG joke in my family!
I thought that was a COMPLIMENT!!

I loved that show! (Except for the annoying tatoo'd girl. She rubbed me the wrong way) I hope you get it, OP! Keep us posted!! Seems like it would be a fun experience-- in the best city in the world! How old is your son? Would they have sitters to watch him or would he be on his own? I wonder if they would pay for food, etc. for him-- also, I wonder if you could stay in a hotel with him or if you'd have to stay with the other contestants. Clearly, I wonder a lot about the functioning of reality shows!!
by my LOVELY son...
I got a voice and email from the casting director of Worst Cooks in America on the Food Network and yes, I will probably be on the next episode of COPS because my son thinks this is hysterical...
He wrote a letter to them after watching last season's show when I kept saying "I could've been on THAT show"...I didn't know he agreed with me!!!
The audition is Saturday and I have to bring a HORRIBLE attempt at cooking. I asked my kid and he named about 100 things he thinks will win it for me-- all things I THOUGHT he liked!!!
Wish me LUCK?![]()

I think I'll bring my famous Spaghetti Pie... even the interviewer said "WHAT?"
I hope you're chosen! Keep us posted, please. And remember, I won't be laughing AT you but with you.
I was invited to the open audition but they gave me a number to call to confirm.
Well, after the call they told me I have an appt on Sunday for an ON AIR audition!!!
She told me if I'm chosen I'd spend FOUR WEEKS in NYC...my hometown!! From June to July so I can bring my son. I hope I get it, I'd love to go home!!!

we loved watching that show!
i'm an ok cook, but one of the 1st times i tried cooking (age 32)...i set a pan on fire...in the SINK! it was hot and had a drop of olive oil in it and i moved it to the sink. next thing i know...POOF!
congrats and good luck!! we'll be watching for you next season!
I was cooking with mom and grandma before I turned 10.I would not be proud if my 17 year old son nominated me for being a horrible cook.

Really? We watched that show and both DH and DD wanted to nominate me. I make about 2 good dishes. The rest are NOT. I grew up with a great cook in my home (DGM). She passed when I was 23. She didn't want us anywhere in the kitchen unless we were doing the dishes. She loved to cook and didn't want us messing up her food.Don't you have to work?
I would not be proud if my 17 year old son nominated me for being a horrible cook.

.I googled "spaghetti pie"I think I'll bring my famous Spaghetti Pie... even the interviewer said "WHAT?"
It comes out REAL good sometimes but most of the time REAL BAD.![]()
. I think that something unusual and BAD will be perfect! Good luck I would not be proud if my 17 year old son nominated me for being a horrible cook.

You were very lucky. Not everyone is as lucky as you were. I have a friend who calls the stove "the white thing that gets hot" and the refrigerator "the white thing that gets cold"You really never cooked until you were 32?I was cooking with mom and grandma before I turned 10.
. It's a running joke in her house that her DH does all the cooking.
