If we are staying at Pop, our plane arrives at 9:30ish a.m. What would be the latest our luggage would get to our resort, using DME? TIA

Depends on if your room was ready. If your room is ready when you check in, the bags will almost always be delivered within 3 hours. If your room isnt ready, they will be delivered shortly after it is ready. If there would happen to be a delay with the airline (slim chance) or something in DME (even slimmer chance since all of the luggage only has to be at one airport) it could be delayed, but DME tracks all the luggage so they know where it is. And remember the delivery is stated as 3 hours after CHECK IN, not landing. If you spend time at MCO, or happen to get off the resort bus and just head to a park, you havent checked in, so they wouldnt know you were there to deliver your bags :)

edit: this will probably get moved to the transportation board where your other post about the same thing is :) Also, I guess WORST case would be the luggage gets lost and you never see it again ;) I probably have a better chance of winning the lottery then having that happen to be honest though

It really depends on how busy a travel day it is. Usually your luggage will show up in your room less than 3 hours from your check in time at the resort. Resort check in time is when they start counting, not from the time your plane lands. However, when we used DME over the 4th of July they were telling people to expect waits of around 5 hours.

Our luggage took about 5 hours last week. We also ended up getting out of the ridiculous Magical Express line and sharing a cab with another fed up family that was tired of waiting. Good luck!

the one time we used the ME we only waited 10 or 15 mins to get on the bus, the ride was short and pleasant, we checked in during the early afternoon and waited HOURS for our bags. They finally arrived in the wee hours of the morning...a grand total of 9-10 hours or so after check in. They said that they were especially busy that day. We had begun questioning them as to where our luggage was when it became our kids bedtime and they looked and assured us the bags were AT the hotel, but it took them forever to actually get them to our room and then we were still missing a bag that arrived another 30 minutes later...It was not a great way to begin a vacation. But I hear many people who have had no problems so maybe what happened to us was just a rare lapse in what is normally a great Disney service...

You can use DME and NOT use the luggage service. I think MCO, well, Northwest and Spirit Air anyway, are pretty quick getting luggage to the carousel. I've never waited more than 20 minutes for my luggage and I did not have to worry about when it will arrive at my resort.

'Course, we usually fly in on evening flights and it's much less hassle to just get our own luggage.

When we went last year in November on the 8 th. We landed at 1 pm and did not get bags until after 11 pm! In 2005 OCt 22 it took 7 hours after landing. This trip we are taking a carry on with pj's so we can get our dd to bed before midnight.

Worst case scenario is 24 hours. Extremely unlikely, but that is the worst case. Make sure to pack any necessary medications or other items you cannot get by without in your carryon.

This is true. We did this in November. First of all, I didn't totally trust our bags would arrive in a timely, undamaged manner. Second of all, it takes us a whole day to get to MCO from here and we needed to freshen up before going to our ADR for dinner. Also, we hated the ME and would likely not use it again. It took us 2 1/2 hours from the time we got our bags at the carousel to get to our hotel. It was a miserable experience. We stopped at several other hotels and our driver was painfully slow. I would spend the money on a cab next time.

Worst likely case - 3 - 5 hours.

Pack a bag with the things you really need, go to Pop, grab something to eat and go th ethe Magic Kingdom.

Your bags will be in your room when you return.
