What is your LEAST favorite restaurant at WDW

Big River Grill - tried this place several times and had poor service each time. Combined with just OK food and there's no reason to go back. Too many other good choices.

I know it's a QS and not a restaurant, but Cosmic Ray's is  I really don't know why people like it; I guess the variety :confused3? Unclean stations and people all over...chaos. I felt like I was eating at McDonald's.

Worst CS: ABC Commissary. All 8 of us in our group agreed that the food was surprisingly bad. The chicken curry over rice was the absolute worst of the meals ordered.

Worst TS: Coral Reef. I really, really wanted to like this place. The atmosphere was just lovely and so unique, but the food was bland, unappealing, and over priced. The service we received that evening was inattentive bordering on rude. For the atmosphere, I would consider trying this one again, perhaps at lunch and with simpler choices...a salad and dessert, perhaps.

Oddly its the same ones as the best.

This is true. It seems that no matter what restaurant you are talking about somebody will rate it as the absolutely best and somebody else will rate it as the absolutely worst. In the end, the only opinion that matters is yours. You may want to read the dining reviews here when trying to decide. :disrocks:

I agree that one person's delight can be another's slop. Generally speaking, many of the Disney restaurants have gone downhill, some more than others. Over the past year we've been disappointed with Sci-Fi, Biergarten, Le Cellier, and most recently, Hollywood Brown Derby. Counter Service is mostly bad, especially the chicken-blend hot dogs and the wheat buns they are using on hot dogs and burgers. I checked in with Sommerfest this afternoon and they claim to have all-beef hot dogs. I'll verify that inn the near future.

Today we had a great meal at Rose & Crown and the last two times at Chefs de France were very good. Our current favorites are Shula's, Fulton's, and Raglan Road. Of course, things change often at The World so next week could all be different.

The absolute worst food we have ever eaten at Disney was at Tamu Tamu Refreshments in Africa at the Animal Kingdom. It was AWFUL. I could not eat my food it was so awful.

The other 2 of my least favs are Hollywood & Vine (yuck. Not a fan of the food at all) and Yak & Yeti. Again, the food at Yak & Yeti is just awful.

IMO no restaurant at Disney is worth the price they charge. As someone else mentioned, for the price you pay for meals at Disney you could get a much better meal elsewhere.

I would probably say ABC Commissary too - they actually have nothing left on their menu I would consider eating.

However, as far as food quality and service go, it's easy to see why the TS restaurants can be a mixed bag. For example, I had two lunch ADR's booked at Le Cellier a couple years ago, same time of day, one week apart. The first meal was fabulous - the food was cooked perfectly, the service was attentive but not hovering, the timing of the meal was spot on. It just could not have been better. The second meal, the food was over cooked (same menu choice as previous meal), I couldn't get my server's attention if my life depended on it (totally vanished for 45 minutes), no drink refills, nothing. I wanted to run, not walk, out of the restaurant that day. It was hands down the worst meal of the trip, and the worst TS meal I think I've experienced at Disney. This was at the SAME restaurant - just one week apart. If I had only had one experience or the other, I might be saying Le Cellier was my favorite or least favorite restaurant. Just goes to show that it's a good idea to give a restaurant a second chance before consigning it to the "never again" pile.

Very true!

We like all different kinds of food, from diner burgers to dry aged steaks to fine seafood. We have been to all different kinds of restaurants (in the real world that is), from burger joints to pizzerias to the finest dining establishments in NYC (where we live). That said, DH and I didn't ever have a meal at WDW we would say was "terrible". There were a few places we didn't care very much for, but I wouldn't say that nobody would like eating in those places...it is just our opinion.

We didn't care for Marrakesh or Captain's Grille. We just thought they weren't anything special. We liked the food choices better at Tangierine than Marrakesh...more our style. Captain's Grille wasn't bad, it just wasn't something we would return to in a heartbeat. We were also not impressed with WCC. The food was OK, not the greatest but we didn't expect it to be the greatest. We are loud, outgoing people, but the antics there were even a bit much for us. We liked it at first but after a little while it became too repetitive. Yet we LOVED the antics at 50s Prime Time and we had a lively, outgoing server who got very much into everything.

One guest's worst restaurant is another guest's best one, and vice versa. Our whole family (10 people) loved Chef Mickey's dinner, yet I read terrible reviews about it. We didn't have high expectations going in there, but we were going for the characters and overall experience. We each found a few things we really loved, and whenever I go to a buffet I know there will be foods I won't touch...as long as I find something I like, I am happy.

I'm still interested to see if ANYONE likes ABC Commissary. I'm not sure if I've ever heard anyone say anything good about it. When I ate there, it wasn't just lousy, it was disgusting....and I'm really not all that picky.

We do! The past 2 trips I've ordered the fried fish, and I haven't been disappointed; it was flaky and moist on the inside, crunchy on the outside. DH was actually really upset when they discontinued their cuban sandwich, that was his favorite CS meal on property.

Of course, the first meal I ate there was a burger and it was the most disgusting burger I've ever [not] eaten.

As for my poop list:

LTT dinner. The food is not worth the $$$, we did this 2 years in a row, thought the first year was because we were all getting ill, but really the food was just yucky. Food was better when it was a character meal.

What's disturbing about this thread is that no restaurant seems to be imune to at least an occasional bad experience. There was a time when Disney had a reputation for haveing their act together and we can see that has gone away. Even given the wide variety of likes and dislikes, I've never seen so many people have so many bad comments on Disney dining. That should be raising flags all around, but the folks at Disney either don't see them or simply don't care.

For quite a few years it was rare for anyone to complain about food or service at a Disney-run restaurant. This seems to have come about in recent years and it's getting worse. Many of us are convinced the dining plans, especially free dining, has a lot to do with it. There were plans way before the decline, but those were geared more towards convenience than savings. Perhaps the decline in service has something to do with the guaranteed tip included in the plans. Paying as we go, we have never had bad service. I have to wonder if that's one of the reasons they always ask if you're on a plan when you first sit down now.

No matter how you look at it, somebody in Disney management is responsible for the decline (or at least inconsistencies) and we can only hope things change soon.

Biergarten- This is more of a personal preference kind of thing. I liked the Leek soup, pretzel rolls and some of the salads. Otherwise, I ate nothing because I don't eat sausage and most of the things on the buffet didn't appeal to me. Their desserts were lacking also, especially compared to most places in Disney who have awesome desserts.

Le Cellier- so much sodium I felt like I needed a visit to the Dr's office just to check my blood pressure. Their kitched needs to lay off the salt!!!

Cape May Cafe- Not bad really, but for the price I wouldn't go again. I get a lot of good seafood being from New England. Also... their "New England clam chowder" is an imposter!!! Nothing like what we have here, which is my favorite  Desserts were wonderful however.

 I will admit I like it. It has been a while since I went however. I got the Chicken Curry which I really liked and another time I got an Asian salad. I thought both were really good for a counter service, and I like the different choices. I don't know what is currently on their menu. Definitely wouldn't go out of my way for it, but I would get both again if I was in that area of DHS when we got hungry! To each their own, I guess! :)

We all have had diffent experiences to let everyone know we do go back to make sure we wer ight the first time. So far we have been right. shame we have such nice meals then one bad one makes you think twice about eating at a new one.

Mama Melrose!
We could barely stand in the waiting area, they were the latest of restaurants to seat us, the food was nothing more than ok and the atmosphere just didn't feel right. We keep hearing rave reviews about it but personally we wouldn't go back.

Gotta go with Tony's. On no planet in our solar system would this even remotely be called Italian. I simply really can't understand how one can make such a "tasteless" marinari sauce.
