Worrying about the weather

Hello there fellow Disney Fans

This is Jennifer from Portland Oregon. As you can see by my sign on name, I was burned last year and I am a proud survivor. This trip was planned for May of 2005, but had to be delayed because of the skin graft surgeries and all of the other limitations that came along with it.

The biggest limitation was not being in the sun. I was sooooo afraid of the sun last year, but, now, I am always happy to be out and about in it (Sun hat and sun screen, of course); however; I am worried about the humidity. As you can see, I am from the Pacific Northwest...we don't get alot of heat and when it is hot, it is dry, not wet. Heat affects my scar tissue a bit. Last year it was unbearable, but, I think I can do it this year.

First off, are there any fellow burn survivors (note "Victim" is not a word I would ever use...I am a survivor, not a victim.. .). If so, how did you deal with your limitations?

I see the weather is looking like mid eighties. I will be there beginning the 19th through the 28th.

Any advice?

I really can't comment on your concerns with the burns, but I can try on the humidity.

I grew up in New England where it only gets humid in middle of the summer. Living in Central Florida for 3 years, I have gotten acclimated to the heat and humidity.

Having said that, I can say that the humidity has been decreasing and should be pretty comfortable next week. It looks like it will be mid to upper 80s with reasonable humidity.

In 2004 we were in WDW that same week in Oct. Humidity was not a problem and temps were nice warm low to mid 80s during the peak of day and very lovely 60s at night. Definitely felt like less sun intensity than in April/May. IMHO late Oct is a great time of year for WDW weather.
