I have always heard raves about this restaurant but we never tried it. I booked it for the first time. But my travel agent almost freaked out. She said the last time SHE went with her family the food was beyond gross and very simple food.

Please give me some positive raves as of late. I am starting to worry!!!! :scared1:
TIA

EDIT: We are scheduled for dinner.

We hve only done breakfast and it's been great. Never a problem. We are trying lunch on our next trip. I expect it to be good too.

We are scheduled for Lunch as well (on our first day)... Maybe we should see if there is a Chef Mickey's cancellation?

Don't worry! We went back in December for lunch and the food was decent - not gross AT ALL. The desserts are actually really yummy! We had such a great time that we have another ADR there in a few weeks for lunch.

You don't say if you are doing breakfast or lunch or dinner. We do breakfast every year and it is by far our favorite breakfast at Disney. Love the puffed french toast and the potato casserole; everything else is good too. We have never done lunch or dinner, but I'm not big on lunch/dinner buffets--especially after the two horrible experiences at Hollywood & Vine. We will, however, do the lunch/dinner buffet at Biergarten--excellent!

You can find someone who has something negative to say about every restaurant at WDW. Just go with your plans with a positive attitude and enjoy!

We've been there several times for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast was the best IMO. Lunch and dinner...was just okay. I have to say if it weren't for the characters, I wouldn't give CP the time of day, but we tend to be picky with what we like and are not really totally hip to a lot of the buffet foods, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

we've done Crystal Palace for dinner 3 times -- years ago, then in 2007 and 2008. It was just fine...some of the food so-so, but a lot of it was very tasty. Service was good, the Pooh characters are fun and the place is very pretty.

That said, you will hear good & bad no matter where you pick...so your best bet is look at the menus, read the description of the place (and look at pictures of the restaurant if you can find them) And pick the one that sounds & looks good to you.

We usually try to have lunch there, have not had b'fast, but we LOVE it. The desserts are great there. Like one of the other dis'ers said..try it out and judge for yourself. If it wasn't very good, it wouldn't be so hard to get in :)

We love CP, we just did breakfast in January and it was amazing....we also did dinner in August and loved it, except the soups which were way too salty.

The only negative thing about CP is the noise level

We always eat there and have never been disappointed. Dinner is my favorite meal there. Maybe your TA went on a bad day. We love it and will continue to go every trip!

We always do breakfast at CP. In general we don't like buffets at all except for CP. The food there is always hot and fresh and the buffet is kept very clean. In terms of dinner I hear mostly positives. What they serve for dinner doesn't mesh up with my allergies well so we haven't done it.

We went to CP for the first time last April for lunch. The food was very good & the characters wonderful. It was our favorite sit down of the trip.

another CP lover here!! :lovestruc

I've had lunch and dinner there a number of times, and have never had a bad experience. We've loved it everytime. as others have said you will always find someone who doesn't like where you're going, for whatever reason they may have.

I've learned to just try things for myself no matter what I read on this board. I've read so many negative reviews for resturants here *cough cough*Tony's*cough cough* and was scared to try it, but we went and loved it, and can't wait to go back.

I'm sure you will have a great time at CP

We went for breakfast back in '06 (can't believe it's been that long!!), and we enjoyed it. The only thing we didn't enjoy was how long we had to wait for the characters to come around. This time we opted not to go there for breakfast, but to try it for dinner instead. It's always so pretty and lit up at night, so I wanted to have dinner there this time! I read on allears.net about some of the things that are *usually* on there, and that's what made up my family's mind!! :goodvibes

We had lunch there in December and we loved it. We had great character interaction and we thought the food was good.

I have eaten there on many occasions (around 2 dozen, all 3 meals) and I've never, ever thought of it as gross. It has to be one of the best restaurants on property. Even Kevin Klose from the DISUnplugged likes it.

Forget what your travel agent says and dont worry about the Crystal Palace. I'm sure Pooh & the gang will be glad to see you. pooh: :tigger: :eeyore:

we went last wk for breakfast. The food was ok typical breakfast items. The noise level was a bit much, but it was my DS making all the noise lol. It did take along time to see the characters, we actually left before seeing two, we were done eating and they were no where near our table.

We always have dinner at CP, and did just this past January. It was awesome, as usual!

Yeah, THAT!

I will say that CP dinner was my least fave character buffet last trip, but no one (of 4 adults and 2 kids) starved by any means. I certainly wouldn't describe it as "gross" by any measure. Besides, our FAVE that trip was 1900PF, and it won't take you long at all to find several threads bashing it!

Will it be the most amazing meal you've ever eaten? Probably safe to say, no. Will be it inedible? I highly, highly doubt it. We always go in with reasonable, buffet expectations. We've yet to be disappointed, and usually we're quite pleasantly 'surprised.' Plus, I figure I can get a fantastic meal at plenty of places at home, there aren't too many places (um, none!) that I can eat with Pooh, or Mickey, or Cinderella, etc.
