The worldmark anaheim time share is on katella and many sites say it is walkable through the garden walk. anyone have any info on this? We will have 2 small children and a stroller. I want to know if this is really do able esp 2-4 times a day or if I need to plan on catching the ART sometimes (at least back to the resort.
also is it safe to walk after dark? (I am from a small town-2800 people and so am a bit naive on city safety-tend to either be overly cautious or not neqr enough!
thanks ahead.- getting so excited less than 3 weeks to d day!

My Dad stayed there in August when we all went down and they used the shuttle every time. I would guess it would be a 15 minute walk for me and I am a very fast walker.

I believe they give the guests a free ridemax schedule, they will tailor it to your rides. It is safe, lots of people in the area during the evening. Lot of good restaurants within a block.

Hi - walking is totally doable. But if you want my advice, ART is the way to go. We started out thinking we would walk or drive and pay for parking. What a hassle. ART was waaayy easier from WM. We have done it all three ways. We are going back in Dec and plan on using ART again.

Enjoy and have a great time!

My parents stayed there in August also and used ART every time. The walk is doable, but with all that park walking, you're not going to want to walk to and from the Worldmark at least twice a day also. My dad really liked the shuttle and said it was easy to use and not too crowded. BUT he also didn't care that much that the shuttle didn't get him there early enough (at least in my opinion). On his MM day for instance when MM was 7 AM, the first shuttle didn't get them to the park until 7 AM. Also, the shuttle schedule isn't exact. So he and my mom were headed out to the shuttle to go back to the hotel for an afternoon rest, but just as they reached the shuttle loading zone they saw their shuttle already driving away four minutes ahead of the time they had been told it would be leaving the parks (yes, we pulled out our iPhones and checked the time). So if you're using ART you need a little flexibility. You may want to consider walking to the park in the morning when you're fresh and you want to control your schedule, and using ART the rest of the day and trying to be there a little early for departures.

Thanks for all the great info!!!
can you give me an idea of how much time I need to plan for )(actually on the ART) to get to disney. (Like i would budget 15-20 minutes walk into when I wanted to hit the gates-but how much time do I need to consider to gates on shuttle?) Of course this may not matter as I will be at the wim of the shuttle does it run hourly?
thanks again for all the help!!!

I think it runs about every 20 minutes. It can be crowded in the morning, so you may have to wait for the next shuttle. I'd plan on being at the stop at least 45 minutes to an hour ahead of time if being the first in the park is important to you. It won't take that long to get there, but if you have to wait for the next shuttle you'll still get there at a decent time.

You could always walk sometimes and ride others - walk in the morning *to be there right at park opening - I dislike relying on someone else to get me there when I want to get there* ride back for a mid day break, then walk or ride back to the park after your break and then back "home" at the end of the day.

I want to say that Disney has a parking lot on Katella across from the Garden Walk, you could always walk to the parking lot and catch the Disneyland shuttle buses from there. :) Save you some walking time.
