I know there has been quite a bit of discussion regarding the flag that was found at the World Trade Center site which was being displayed at American Adventures in Epcot.

According to the www.wdwig.com site, under the Calendar of Events:

"The United States Flag which was recovered from the World Trade Center is on display at Epcot at the American Adventure through February of 2004."

Just thought everybody would like to know.

I am so glad it is going to be there for another year. We were at Epcot a few weeks ago. This was on our "To Do" list, and we got so busy when we were there, we forgot. I felt really bad when I remembered and it was too late. Now we can go see it on our next trip.

I am so glad that we got to see it last year. We took photos to show the folks back home here. Tears came into my eyes..it was hard to look at, but something I wanted to see. I urge everyone to go and see it while there if you can.

I cried when I saw it. I didn;t think I would, but the emotions just exploded.

I am glad my younger niece will also get to see it.

As others have said the emotion of seeing it was overwhelming. I do have to say though, Disney really disapointed me with this one.:(

You have to know it is there and than ask in order to find it. There is no signage out front of "America" or as you enter. We asked and it was in a room off to the side, but that everyone sees into while waiuting for the show. The marking that it is WTC is so small, if you don't know you just think it is some flag on a wall. My sister-in-law and I stood in awe looking at it and than watching about 200 people walk past and into a show without even noticing. We really wanted to say - "Do you all know what this is?"

Anyone else seen it and feel the same or different:confused:

thats great i was bummed when i heard it was leaving soon... i am so glad that it is staying for another year! I will be able to catch it this winter!

I agree!! I felt like they should be shouting it from the mountain tops when I was there early January. Everywhere I went, I tried to bring it up to make sure everyone knew.

When we went in September, seeing the flag was on the must do list. We video taped it and we took pictures. The pictures didn't turn out well. I was so bummed, but I was relieved to find that you could see it in the background of another picture that I took inside the hall.

I was so surprised at the lack of signage to indicate the flag was there. I think that lots of folks would welcome the chance to be so close to a piece of contemporary American/world history. It was very powerful. I cried. I didn't want to, but I did. Sometimes, I'm just a big softie.

I hope to get a better picture in December. This time, we plan on doing all the countries at Epcot. We skipped most of them on the last trip. Mickey

Yes, I felt the same way too. My wife and I were the only ones out of a couple of hundred people to go over and look at it. There were 2 elderly couples standing next to us when we got back in line, one of them was even wearing a WWII vet hat. They never stopped talking and I didn't want to interrupt them, but 3 weeks later I still wish I had.

I got a good pic. of the flag, and the pictures/plaque next to it. I could email it to someone if they would like them.

If you want to get a picture yourself you should either turn off your flash(and set your camera accordianly) or take the picture from a little bit of an angle, so you don't just get a reflection of your flash.

I did not tear up myself, but it was very moving.

I knew it was there and made sure to avoid it. That is the last thing I want to see. I go to WDW to forget about things like this.

It is a big honor to see it and I took a picture of it when I reflected upon it, but I don't want to see signage and advertisements for it. To me, it would seem tacky and cheapen the meaning of what it is and what it stands for. It shouldn't be a selling point and I hope that's what they're trying to avoid by not advertising it. I was grateful for that.

We missed this when we were there this past October and knowing that it will still be there for this year's trip is a good thing. I think it is a good way for everyone who sees it to remember those who lost so much :( .

After I got over the shock at the ignorance of other people looking at it and trying to figure out what the shapes of the holes "cut" into it were.... "Deleware" "Minnesota" and I love this one... "A horse and buggy" The people had no clue, just no clue that it was from the WTC!

It was emotional, more so than I thought it would affect me. It made me smile though that we have our freedom, proud of our country's resiliency and that we were fortunate enough to be alive and at WDW feeling safe. The song "We go on" was especially poignant that evening, after viewing the flag.

Not to be missed!

I'm glad that it will be there... It was put on display after my trip and I didn't think that I was going to get a chance to see it before May.

I didn't get to see it in person, but Holly got a good picture of it.

I just want to clarify my post. I agree, I don't think they should "sell it" or use it for advertising purposes but that said, if I hadn't read these boards (and than asked a CM) I would never have know about it. It obviously had a world wide effect and I would think once at the American Pavilion they could have done something more to it. The flag it self is large but the WTC notation is so small you have no clue unless you are within 2 feet of it. I just think it is a shame to have thousands of people within 25 feet of it (on there way into the auditorium) and not know they are walking pasted this!

I saw it last friday when we were at EPCOT. Thanks to whoever posted the information.

I got tears in my eyes upon seeing the flag. I am glad I didn't miss it. As others have said, I would have missed it if I didn't hear about it here.

Just so others know, it is not the flag that was flying at the WTC, which we all saw on TV, but a smaller one which was recovered from the rubble of the WTC. It's very moving.
