World Showcase Pavilion Shop Closures?

We're planning for our December trip (early, I know, but planning is a big part of the fun!), and Birnbaum's 2023 Guide and a number of online sites are mentioning that a number of the shops/restaurants in various pavilions are either closed or understocked or stocked with generic Disney items, rather than country-specific souvenirs. We're particularly interested in UK, Canada, Morocco, Germany and Norway. Will it be likely that they will be fully open and stocked later this year? Is this part of the massive EPCOT construction?

We were there in April and did not find understocked stores. There is only one store now in Morocco...nothing along the back alleyway as in years past. But all the other countries you mentioned did not seem to have any issues with stocking 'home' country items. I hope you have a wonderful trip!

This is great to hear! We were reading that Canada was short stock, that Germany's toy store was stocked almost entirely with Christmas, etc.
Really looking forward to our trip!

That information is outdated from back during the pandemic when supply chains were much more of an issue. Everything is well stocked with appropriate merch now.

I don’t know what it was like before, but I thought there were a lot of regular Disney Christmas ornaments (the sketchbook ones) in Germany when we were there in mid-May. The store with the cuckoo clocks didn’t have much other than the Disney Christmas merchandise. Everything else seemed normal to me.

That was one of the things we'd seen online, too. That almost all the clocks were gone and that Christmas had spread into two stores --- also that most of the plush/toys were gone in Germany and now stocked with more generic Disney items.

I would say that sounds very similar to what we saw a few weeks ago. I only noticed 2 or three clocks on the wall, and a lot of Disney merchandise.

There were a ton of new ornaments in the other shop in Germany!
