World Showcase Favorites!

We've seen the character bus up by the big water fountain...the one that follows the music. As far as the stuff we love to do in World Showcase.....
Passports. Had never done them before and my dd had a ball doing it. Got to meet some really nice CMs that way.
Kidcot. Again, great way to meet the foreign CMs. Dd has her mask hanging up over her desk at home.
Storytellers. Wonderful way to learn about different holiday customs. This is one of the big reasons we are going back at Thanksgiving...to see them again!!!
Take your time. You will not be able to see everything on one visit. We are still finding new things and we've been going since '99 and have been about 6 times now!!!

Ive never seen the bus up by the dancing water fountain!! We have been going every year since 99 too. This will be our 9th trip!
Ive been taking the kids twice a year on a trip with gramma and pappy for the past 2. Hubby hunts over thanksgiving and the kids have 6.5 days off of school, so its a perfect time to go back down with the kids and my parents! I think we may have been at WDW at the same time as you one other time too! Were you there over Thanksgiving in 02???

My kids (8,6&4) loved Epcot. Some of their favourites were The Living Seas, being Jr. Chefs in the Land, the boat rides in Mexico and Norway. Watching the busker-like performances near France was fun for them too. We also caught the dancing fountain near Honey I Shrunk the Audience, it's fun to watch.

My kids will never drink coke or ginger ale again (aha, my evil plan worked) thanks to me letting them have their first taste of soda in the Ice Station cool (and to think, they were So excited Mom was going to let them try soda) ;)

We also loved emailing photos to Grandma at Kodak's ImageWorks.

They danced to Off Kilter in Canada.

They loved the Princess Storybook Breakfast.

There are lots of characters at Epcot; a great place to see them. My 6yo got quite a smooch from Mary Poppins on his forehead. Each of the boys got their cheeks kissed by princesses at the PSB. We ran into Aladdin and the Genie there too near Morocco.

We just missed the bus; I was sad about that....something for next time ;)

Have fun!

my son (now 9, but has been visiting wdw since he was 5) loves to eat up time in FW.

there are so many interactive things in the Innovations pavillions

Ellens universe of energy is just great - especially if either of your kids likes dinos

don't miss figment!

World Showcase is also great for the reasons other posters have mentiond - my son loves getting his passport signed and could spend a huge chunk of his vacation mad money in the store in Japan. (can you say hello kitty, pokemon and other badly drawn cartoon character crap galore?!?!?)

Lori- we love Epcot! We spend more and more time there every year. I always hear people say Epcot is so boring and their kids hate it. My kids LOVE it there. You can spend days and days there just walking around looking at everything and discovering the new things you missed last time! I still havent found a butterfly garden they is supposed to be over near Test Track. My DD's, ages 11 & 9 have gotten into collecting the pressed pennies. So we are always on the look out for those, and there are lots in Epcot. I saw there were some kind of Nemo statues by the living seas.. Thats something new that we will have to go check out on this trip. If you read the thread on WDW's secrets, you can find lots of neat things to look for!

My girls love shopping in the Japanese store...I forget the name...but lots of items in their budget. Also, enjoy the "snowcone" from Japan. We all enjoy lunch at Morocco, complete with bellydancer. She even gave my girls a lesson. Fun. Ice station cool is a must. Spaceship Earth is a big hit. All the fountains. We love it. If you are there for dinner, Le Cellier has a Chocolate Moose for dessert for kids that is adorable and quite tasty.

This summer the Character Bus made 3-4 stops during the day around Epcot. We saw the bus by Japan in World Showcase. I also remember seeing on the schedule that it stopped at the Showcase Plaza, which is the lagoon area Aimee described above between Canada and Mexico on the Future World side. It also stopped in the front of Epcot and maybe one other place.

In World Showcase, we like to do the hedge maze around the bandstand in UK, after we listen to British Invasion and visit the Thomas the Train Table in the Toy Shoppe. In Germany, there's a toy train village. Can you tell my kids like trains? The Kidcot stations are also fun!

My DD's were 7 and 9 on their first trip (looking forward to #2 in June!) and they LOVED World Showcase. I've got great pics of my older DD playing with one of the living statues and my favorite photos were taken while eating at the Biergarten in Germany. They had a blast dancing there - we stayed and stayed and stayed in that place! We also liked meeting characters in the different countries as there was never the big crowd around like at MK. We bought the passports and the girls still like going through them..we saw many kids using their masks for the passport stamps and I thought it was a cute idea. Looking through the shops was especially fun for them - their favorite purchase was a chinese umbrella with their names in chinese on it.

We can't wait to get back and see Illuminations and The American Adventure which we missed last time. Have fun with your planning!
