The Official VILLAS at DISNEYLAND HOTEL (Discovery Tower) Owners and Fans Info Thread

It’s a good movie….. much better than the ride, IMO.

When they try to re-theme existing rides, does it ever really work that well?

I'll probably never go on it, just because I don't like getting soaking wet on rides. Not really a fan of the drop either.

You don't get that wet at all on the WDW version.

If my wife can do the drop I have full confidence that anyone can do it because she is normally opposed to thrill rides of any kind.

The first and second drops are when you get soaked the most on the DL version, has been the case since the final SM refurb and the re-skin. The "trick" to minimize getting wet is to make sure the lightest riders to take one for the team and sit in the front because heavy riders at the front will cause the most water displacement during those first two drops and soak everyone's legs and feet. The final drop can get your top wet but it's not that high and relatively gentle that it rarely causes enough water displacement to get you completely soaked.

I've been on both versions but it's been a long time. I honestly don't know if I've been on the WDW as an adult at all. And for Disneyland, I think the last time I went on it was 2007 or so. Even back then I got pretty soaked and I heard it's so bad now. I do want to get on Grizzly River one of these days though.

I read this and think…. “She really needs to spend more time at DCA…..”

realized that the 2BR's facing the neighborhood and facing the E ticket pool are both the "preferred view" category. requested pool facing, had neighborhood facing last time. we shall see what we enjoy more.
Most likely the front side will like better overall. I did enjoy the palette pool side having a better balcony directional viewing. Any preferred room on that resort side is a superior view overall.

I didn't think any of the 1 or 2 bedrooms faced the neighborhood. Aren't they all facing either north or east ?
