Hello Guys,

I was checking the official disneyland and california adventure calendar and I found a terrible surprise for my trip on the first weekend of December (I have everything paid and reserved for Friday Dec 02 and Saturday Dec 03)

Last day of World of Color in the calendar is Thursday Dec 01!!!! (at least for this seasson/year? no refurbishment information about Water of Color is available and the guys in Disney phone don't have any information).

They changed (at least on the calendar) World of Color as the Feature Event for "Pixar Pals" show... Any way to confirm that? I called the Disneyland phone line and they guy was also surprised but he had the same calendar so no new information about this from the Disney operator).

My daughter will be devastated because we have been saving money and time for a long time to complete this trip with her and for sure Water of Color is the one she is more excited about... :(

Thank you in advance.

Sofi, Gus and little Ingrid.

The Disneyland/DCA schedules are always in flux. This is probably a momentary glitch. Every time I can think of so far when someone posted that the schedule suddenly did not show World of Color, it's come back on the schedule later. In fact, if I recall correctly, most times when someone posted that there weren't any weekend fireworks listed, they have also appeared on the schedule later. I saw that the schedule for 12/2 and 12/3 JUST came out, so they will almost certainly change.

Perhaps Disney is trying to figure out how many times to show it those days....rumor is that they will have a Christmas addition to the show, which may increase interest and warrant an extra showtime each night.

I wouldn't panic just yet. It is not unusual for shows/parades/etc. to not be on the calendar when they first release them. My guess is that they will fill in WOC in a few days. If not, this would be big news and would be on these boards or on Mouseplanet or other Disney fan sites.
:goodvibes

Thanks guys, I really hope the calendar is wrong but the guy on the phone told me that once the hours and events are in the official calendar then is official... :(

That is just a silly thing for him to say. Ignore it. Hours and entertainment change all the time--on occasion the hours may change a week in advance! I'm pretty sure there are also disclaimers saying entertainment and hours are subject to change.

World of Color is pulling thousands of people into the park in the evening, they are not going to close it.

I know that they are not going to close it (long term) but I found some information in disneyland.com that for the Holidays will be a special adition to WOC (new magic adorns) so I was thinking that the weekend that I am going this attraction will probably be close to prepare the "new adorns" :(

I found the information here:
disneyland.disney.go.com/events/holidays/

The site you linked states "From November 14, 2011 to January 8, 2012..."

The new addition to World of Color is rumored to start November 11. http://miceage.micechat.com/

MiceAge is not 100% guaranteed, but things reported there are strong rumors that often turn out to be true. They are already testing the pre-show so I don't see why they would take the show down for multiple days to add it. They've changed the show with NO downtime before.

Barring a natural disaster, I am 99.99% SURE it will play 12/2 and 12/3. So you can keep worrying if you want to, but I don't think there is any reason to.

When Disney put up the dates for our November trip it took them about a week to add World of Color to the schedule. They had the park hours and some of the smaller things like Disney Jr and Aladdin but not the big shows.

I have to agree about not worrying about it just yet.

I can't see any reason for DLR to close World of Color in the middle of the peak holiday season when there is so much construction and stuff already happening in DCA. If anything, it seems like they would want to close it now and get it ready for the holidays. They need to keep things as alive and active as possible in DCA right now, or they run the risk of scaring guests off with all the construction walls. Even if they did have to shut down WoC briefly to add in the holiday segment or for maintenance - and, as Eeee-va said, that doesn't seem likely - I can't see that it would be longer than a couple of days, at most.

Plus, aren't 12/2 and 12/3 a Friday and Saturday? I just can't see WoC shutting down in the middle of the holidays, on a weekend. But stranger things have happened, so we'll see what happens with the calendar. I tend to think that the full, complete schedule for 12/2 and 12/3 has not filled in yet.

Things can always change after they have appeared on the calendar - it's just that a lot of things are only rumors or are unconfirmed possibilities until they appear on the calendar and it becomes official. But that doesn't mean that something cannot be added to or removed from the calendar once it's out.

I've been tracking the November and December hours on the calendar (I'm arriving on December 1st) to keep tabs on the park hours and entertainment. I can tell you that WOC definitely gets added closer to the date. A couple of weeks ago it was missing from some days in November but now it's filled in every single day. I'm sure it will be the same for December. So as of now I'm planning watching WOC for the first time ever on December 2nd! :)

I know for sure that World of Color is going to be operating on Saturday, December 10th. We have reservations at Ariel's Grotto for the dinner and reserved spot for World of Color for the second show that evening (they will be running WOC twice that night). Even if they were working on adding elements to World of Color, I can't imagine that they would have the show closed over the weekend.

If you check back there is an identical panic thread going back every month this year. The reason is because Diesney is slow to show entertainment on the calendar once they post park hours.

Everyone is absolutely correct - don't worry, WOC will be shown. I just made WOC dining reservations for Dec 2nd yesterday and they said two shows are scheduled for that evening. I'm sure Dec 3rd will also have two shows!

OH NO!, DCA isn't even on the calendar for the 4th, is it going to be closed that day? When will it reopen?

Just a joke ;), don't panic anyone. :)
