World of Color Superthread

DCA doesnt do grad nite. BUT you never know. DCA does blast off, and there was one night when they did blast off at Tomorrowland.

I dont want to brag on when i get to see WoC. :P

Oh haha thanks for the info! Our school's grad nite is at a racetrack

JINX! Wow, I just booked for 5pm at Ariel's on June 18th about an hour or so ago. :goodvibes

Actually, I'm not a usual Disboards poster/lurker or Disney planner for my family. My DW (Hawleys) is a huge Disneyland fan (and planning fanatic). She has been talking quite a lot about "World of Chaos" while planning our next trip (June 17th-20th). She was hoping for a dining package, but with no announcement day after day she had started to lose faith. :sad2:

She is out of town at a conference (helping run it) right now. This was the one week she hasn't been able to (obsessively) check the boards. :surfweb: So super-duper thanks Disboards people for the package tip! :thumbsup2 Luck would have it, I needed a 5 minute break and decided to do a little lurking. A phone call & reservation later: I think I've earned my brownie points for the day! :cool1:

PS. Sorry for the excessive use of emocons. This is my first post, and they are irresistible.

 I loved your post! Yes, I do find the emoticons irresistable myself.

Wow- sounds like we will be at Ariel's at the same time! We should definitely meet. I will be with 2 cuties ~ my sons. And we will be wearing matching t-shirts that I ordered online for the trip! :cool1: Oh, and we will also be wearing our lgmh that I recently learned about on the boards :) Hope to see you there!

:disrocks: ITA too! We must be going around the same time because my Costco Travel package arrived today, too! :yay: I almost missed the UPS guy, but luckily he gave me a couple of seconds to run to the door ;)

Yay Cooniez! We are going June 17-22. When are you going?

BTW, how do you quote more than one person in a reply? I just posted 3 times because I wanted to quote 3 people and didn't know how to do it in one post.

Wow we're going June 17-22, too! :) To quote multiple posts just go to each post & click the picture that looks like this:
multiquote_off.gif
. I think it turns red/orange once you've selected all the posts you want to quote, then just select "Post Reply" on the bottom left at the bottom of the page. That should take you to the form where you can respond as usual (just type below each quoted post you selected). Hope that made sense!

Sounds like you guys are ready to rock and roll! We'll keep an eye out for you. We decided to change our reservation to outside, which moved us to 5:20. I didn't realize that was an option. :rolleyes1

As for us, no matching shirts. If it's hot outside, I might be in a blue Red Sox hat. I was going to post our picture, but I can't post links yet. Maybe DW will add one for me.

I hope you guys have a great time! The trip is getting closer and closer. Woohoo! :woohoo:

We'll be looking for matching shirts, two boys and lgmh. :) I used our lgmh to make luggage tags. Kinda wish now I had saved them for the parks. Here is a link to a TR with pictures. http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=33244485&postcount=80 No nephew this time, just the two of us. :sad2:

Just a few weeks until you're in the parks!

I just caught my second viewing of WoC from a Villa, this time 5504. They have changed some things from what I remember of my viewing six weeks ago. I can't wait to see it from the front. The water screens just aren't very clear from this angle, but the show is definitely spectacular! I can't wait to hear what everyone has to say and now I'm thinking maybe I'll move up my reseveration from July to late June!

Has anyone heard if the World of Color will be operating in October? We just tried to make dinner reservations then and were told that the World of Color will not be operating after Labor Day.

I would guess that WoC will be running at the least on a periodic off season schedule. Weekends and bussier days.

I don't know why you were told this, but I do know you can't make dining reservations for DLR that far out. 60 days is the DLR limit for dining reservations. This may be why you were told no.

So does anyone see where you can buy the picnic lunches? when I click on the link it just shows info about WoC, but no place to buy the lunches?

Blast off is like an add-on to gradnight. The schools who paid extra for blastoff get to spend extra time in the park beforehand, i believe in DCA.

Oh, how fun! I went to Grad Nite in 1990 and it was truly magical. :)

“World of Color” Picnic Meals – You can also secure reserved viewing by ordering a special boxed picnic meal. They are not available for order via the (714) 781-DINE line.
  • Online orders may be placed up to 60 days in advance but may not be placed on the same day as redemption. The meals may be picked up at the Sonoma Terrace from 2:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Guests may only enter the viewing area during designated times and no early or late admission will be allowed. Guests in large parties may not be guaranteed admission within the same reserved viewing area. Separate theme park admission is required.

Sheesh..... another thing to think about. :confused3 The picnic deal sounds pretty nice and certainly not the $120 I planned to pay at Ariels for our family of 4. $60 is much more doable for a number of families in my party (I'm assuming the child price is the same $14.99?). I wonder if I am going to have to get specific "orders" from all 17 people in our party in order to get the picnic or if we make a reservation to hold our "picnic spot"?

I just have to say... I love Dis!!! I would be so lost as the tour guide for our crew without you all!!!! :worship:
