World of Color Picnic Meal? gone?

I just read a thread started by someone on another board stating WoC picnics were discontinued Saturday. This person seemed like a reliable source, so it might be true.

If so it would certain put to bed a lot of confusion! The only benefit of the picnics is/was to get passes to people that were arriving late to the parks but didn't want to pay for a full dinner package. Other than that, Disneyland is/was very misleading about them, selling them as a premium viewing product when in reality you can get the exact same thing for free from the machines.

I don't think they are worth one red cent to be honest, getting a FP to WOC is not hard at all - I am sure lack of demand is what caused them to discontinue this.

Just found that thread. Looks like a poster on that board mentioned that if you do lunch rather than dinner your preferred area is different? Seems odd.

I will miss that I agree the food was lame but last couple of times we got prime center no wait in line, wife is disabled so it was fantastic for us and money well spent.

I think I commented on this before but the picnics offered the SAME viewing and waiting as the free FPs, the difference was that your wife had a GAC.

Yes I called last week to reserve them and the lady said they were being discontinued in June. But after reading above comments, I'm glad I went with Wine Country lunch instead!

The picnics were a good idea when WoC was new, because those FPs went early in the day (like RSR does now) and the picnic allowed people to still get into the reserved viewing area without lining up so early for a FP. But now you can get show FPs even late in the day, so the picnic no longer offered an advantage.

I never did a picnic but had read here from multiple sources that the food was actually pretty good for the price, too!

I know I might be alone in this, but that's kind of a bummer, because the vegetarian option was one of the better and more original veggie meals available in the park. We never used to get the WoC fastpasses, just the food.

Oh well.
