Has anyone stayed at Paradise Pier Hotel and had a World of Color room? Is it worth the extra $$$.

It would be a nicer view than a room that overlooks a parking lot, but please don't use this exclusively as a way to see the World of Color show. You need to see the show from the official viewing area in the park at least once to appreciate it, otherwise you're missing about 90% of the show. If you have the money and plan on spending a fair amount of time in your room and feel a theme park view will enhance your experience, then you can upgrade and many people enjoy having a view of the parks, but as I said, just don't shell out the extra money because you think you'll be able to watch the show, because you really can't

We stayed concierge in Aug and although you can see the show and they pipe in the music, you are looking at it from the side. It isn't the same as being there in person with the WOC in front of you.

I'm going to go against the crowd here and say that I think it is worth it!!! You still need to catch the show from CA, but the view is awesome, we really loved it. I have little ones, so we caught a few shows. If you are going to be in the park until it closes, you might ever catch the show from your room. Honestly though, the view is even great during the day, we think.

I agree, for me it's worth the extra $.

It was lovely to watch from the room (while my toddler slept) even if it isn't the "full experience", I love the daytime themepark view as well. I wouldn't stay at the PPH and book a regular room. I actually preferred this room to our one at the GCH.

If you want to watch from the room, you could search up the World of Color soundtrack on YouTube and play it as the show starts so you can get a better audio experience :)

You don't have to search YouTube. It plays on the TV in the room. Not to mention, you can hear it from the room, especially if you open the windows (we usually do both, open the windows and put on the WOC station on the TV).

I just want to reiterate what I said in my original post which was not to skip out on the theme park view rooms, but to just not book that room specifically because you thought that would save you from having to get a fastpass and watching the show in the parks. If you want to see WOC properly, you have to go to the park to do so. Yes, a theme park view enhances your trip compared to the other views from PPH and if you have the money to spare, I would upgrade. I was strictly addressing the OP's title of this thread, which was "World of Color from hotel room".

We had a theme park view room on the 9th floor & an excellent view for the WoC show. We did watch from our room one night (music piped in on the tv). It was beautiful to see, but you cannot see the projections on the water screens....so unless you've see the show from the park....you are missing half the show. So many stories being told on the water that you will miss in your room. Since we had seen it in the park, we were able to sit & enjoy watching the fountains & colors dance to the music.
