World of Color Dining Packages needed for late Feb?

Hello,

We are WDW vets, but taking our first DL trip. Its My Wife, Mother in-law, 6 yo Son, and myself. What I wanted to know was how important are dining packages to get a decent view of WOC the last week in Feb? I know there is kinda a new monkey wrench due to Fantasmic being down due to SWL work.

We will be there Tuesday the 23rd-Sunday the 28th.

Also wondering what days are best to use your early entry?

WoC is fairly popular, but unfortunately has a very badly designed viewing area. Basically, if you're short or on the shorter side, the only way to fully see the show is to be at a rail spot (i.e., front row), so you'll need get there pretty early (~1 hour) to get one of those spots. Many folks have reported having an easier time getting a good spot in the dining package viewing area. So if you want a "good" spot with the least wait, I would opt for the dining package regardless of when you're going. Dining package reservations usually open 60-days in advance, but sometimes they're slow to load into the system.

Also wondering what days are best to use your early entry?

Are you staying onsite? Onsite guests have access to EMH, whereas guests with certian three-day or longer tickets have access to MM. EMH happens in both parks, usually on alternating days (Sun, Mon, Wed, and Fri at DCA and Tue, Thur, and Sat in DL). MM only occurs in DL on the same morning when DL has EMH (so usually Tue, Thu, and Sat). Personally, i would use your EMH or MM as early in the trip as possible because it's usually easier to get up early at the start of the trip.
