World of color dessert party?!

So I went ahead and booked for myself on Sat 15 Oct - if I'm not seated byself I'll be fine as happy to chat for someone as I'm by myself this trip - and I can't wait to see the original WOC it's my fav

We did this back on August 24th and I simply cannot recommend it enough. Rarely will I ever think a $79 upcharge is worth it at Disney but wow is this worth it. After a long day at the park walking around, there was nothing nicer than sitting in a comfortable chair and watching WoC. This was our first time at DLR, so I wanted to really enjoy our WoC experience and figured the splurge would be worth it. It was. Every penny.

We arrived about 15 minutes before check-in and there was a lot of people in line ahead of us. I would say only about 3 families arrived after us. By the time we were seated, there were still short and tall tables available. We were seated in the back row about 3 tables from the left (exit) in a high top table. Perfect view, excellent and attentive servers...they offered to take photos of us before the show started, and the desserts were great. It doesn't look like a lot, but it is. Thankfully we took everything leftover with us. Our daughter got a glow cup, which she absolutely loved.

At one point there was a couple with balloons tied to their stroller in the standing section in front of us. I guess one of the CMs overheard my wife complain to me about the view and 30 seconds later we saw someone tell them to lower the balloons! I loved that, because it would've been annoying.

Afterwards, our server brought us boxes for our leftovers and asked if we wanted some coffee or hot chocolate. We never felt rushed and everyone was so friendly.

The show was incredible, and I simply cannot imagine doing WoC any other way. If you have the means (or even if you don't and you have to cut back on a few things!) I really really really suggest you do this.

We've watched WOC twice, once in the reserved dining section and once in general fast pass section. Wondering if this is something we should look at doing. To be honest, if it means fighting the crowds and hassles after a long park day to view the show we might skip it entirely this trip. Can anyone offer any help on whether this would've be "worth it" for people who've seen it a few times already? Sorry, I realize that is so subjective but I'm hoping other people's experiences or opinions will help me decide.

If we had never seen it before I would be doing this in a heartbeat but the price total for the 3 of is is fairly steep. Especially considering the current Us to Cad exchange rate lol. I should also mention that we've done the fantasmic dessert Party twice and were very happy with the experience both times...

I was a regular for the F! Dessert Seating and LOVED that...I do not even really like the Celebrate WOC and have seen it several times but did the WOC Dessert Party. Well worth it IMO and much better experience than event the F! Dessert Seating experience.

"Worth it"...too subjective to answer, but if you liked the F! experience, I think you will very much like the WOC option. Either way, I look at both as you are paying for an actual seat without fighting crowds and get the bonus of desserts and drinks!

We did the WOC dessert party last night. Incredible, I can't express enough how enjoyable it was to sit down at a table and watch the show. There was no pushing and shoving, no one standing in front of us with a selfie stick. It was calm, organized and peaceful. We were a party of 9 and our table was preassigned. It was the only two tables together that has 5 seats at one and 4 seats at the other. Some tables had three chairs, some 4 so it seems that for at least lager parties there is some kind of preassignment. I didn't care much for the dessert but mostly because I'm not a sweet eater. Three people in our party cleared their plates and most of the rest just took tastes of each of the offerings. The value for us was just in the viewing. It wa very pricey but all the tables were full. We will for sure do this in the future.

Right now I have a reservation for the WOC Dessert Party on Friday, October 28, which I think will be a pretty busy day at the parks because it's a weekend and the hours are long (8am to 12am at Disneyland and 9am to 10pm at CA). WOC is at 9:45 pm. I am considering changing my party date to one of the slower nights of our trip (Tues, Nov. 1st through Thurs., Nov. 4th), mostly because CA closes early those nights (at least it does on Tuesday), so it would extend one of our week nights a little. What do you guys think? Any pros or cons to either plan that you can think of? Is a crowded party worse than a not so crowded party?

The Dessert Party itself is never crowded per se, because there are a limited number of tables. We went in August and although the people not at the party were definitely packed in, we were not.

Personally I'd opt for a day when it's the last thing you do, though. First, you're not using valuable park time. Second, you will be feeling the glow and will be relaxed after the party -- we really enjoyed just closing our night out with it. We could have gone to DL after but even my teens, who will normally stay up as late as we let them, said they just wanted to go back to the hotel after. No more craziness.

I booked this for November 1st. This is our first, and probably only DL visit (WDW vets). I'm not one to line up for anything an hour ahead, so this should work out great!

We've seen WOC three times in the reserved section on previous trips. This time we went for the dessert party and in my opinion it was totally worth it, even with our lousy Canadian exchange rate!

If you have hoppers and on a busy day can hop depending on where the shorter lines are, I would keep the Dessert Party on the crowded day. That way instead of fighting the crowds in the park in the evening, you would have time to just sit and relax and enjoy WOC. Unlike some of the dessert parties at WDW where everyone stands for the show and where the dessert tables are buffet style so the amount of people there makes a difference--- here you are assigned your own table with chairs and you have server that brings you a dessert plate and drinks. You watch WOC from your seat at the table...so it is a pretty good place to be if there are long lines and crowds elsewhere. Basically, you sit down at a table when you enter and you don't get up until you leave after the show. The only thing that would make me change it would be if there was other nighttime entertainment I wanted to see that was only running on the weekend since it was the off season. Outside of having something else I wanted to do that was not available to do on the other days, I would keep it where it is.

I just booked my tix for next Monday...I've done the CC dinner package numerous times and enjoyed it...but the chance to have an ACTUAL seat plus not wait a long time for a spot is totally worth it for me...I'm goin solo so this is something I can afford...I just hope the view is good because I plan on filming the show...

has it been decided that seats are preassigned so I don't need to be there an hour before? - my show on the 15/10 starts at 9.45 , my reservation stars 9pm so I'm guessing it should be OK to arrive then? Just want to make most of my time in DCA

I'm going on 10/11. I heard big parties are preassigned but anything 4 and under isn't.

We're a party of 2, so I wonder how that works? I have to think we'll share a table, but not sure how it works if we choose a table, and the other small party they want to put us with also chooses a table.

We were there on Monday and when we got down to the tables I asked if we could be seated at a tall table behind a short table since we have a short 11 year old with us. A few moments looking at the seating chart and the CM changed where she was going to seat us. I don't know if this indicated that our seating had been preassigned and she moved things around or not but it did not seem like a huge deal to move us.
