World of color dessert party?!

...my older two are Disney adults at ages 10 & 13 and they are wondering if they would also get the glow with the show cup if they still offer them when we go in April...
It appeared (from my location near the dessert party) that anyone requesting non-alcoholic drinks received a Made with Magic Sipper.

These cups were sold last year at various food and beverage locations (not merchandise gift shops), but I have not seen them recently (although I did not search for them).

My husband has an allergy to coconut. It seems to be only the meat that causes him issues , coconut oil usually doesn't. I wonder if that can be accommodated?

How is the view from the chairs? It's hard to tell from peoples pictures if you can still see the whole show, or if you're blocked by the people standing in front.
Such great information trickling in so far, thank you all for sharing.

I'm still hoping for some information on the following:
  • what do they serve for nut allergies
  • do they offer milk as an option for kiddos
  • how they might seat a family of 5, would they split us up or maybe squish us in at one table
  • any reviews/thoughts from kiddos on how they liked it and how well they could see
  • and my older two are Disney adults at ages 10 & 13 and they are wondering if they would also get the glow with the show cup if they still offer them when we go in April
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help provide information. We've booked the experience regardless because it's the only way my kids agreed to see WOC on this trip. They hated the waiting, standing and being squeezed out of their spots by rude adults on our last trip. There were tears and everything. I will pass along any tips or information from experience when we return.

We asked about the sippers and the server told us it was a "special limited time" thing for kids 12 and under but I'm sure your 13 year old could pass. They probably won't card him/her lol
I think it's such a special experience for the kids because they can stretch out or sit and rest and they seem to really like sitting in those directors chairs haha. There are also some special effects in the show that we had a front row seat for but I won't spoil it for you :)
The family in front of us had 5 people and they sat at two tables (3 at one table, 2 at the other) but they were close to each other.
I'm sure you could get milk for the kids if you ask. When I did the Fantasmic dessert thing they were able to accommodate so i don't know why this would be different.

There were no nuts in the dessert that I saw but you can put in your allergies when you make your reservation. When i make notes in my reservation, the restaurants are always aware of my allergies, special occasions, etc.
Hope this helps!

We (14 year old DD, 18 yr old DS and I) did this last night. It's Spring Break and really crowded- I decided to splurge. I made last-minute reservations. We got in the line to check in at 8:55 and weren't seated until 9:10.

The view was good, but we were seated on the lower tables and I did think my view was slightly obstructed by the people below us who put their kids on their shoulders .

There was more food than we could eat and we brought it back with us. It was good, but I would have preferred a buffet.

The service was good and the waitresses offered to take pictures (that turned out amazing.)

I had told my kids about the sippers prior to going and my DD was interested in them, They did not offer my kids the glowing glasses and I didn't ask if they could have one as it was huge and it would never be used again. As we were leaving I think I overheard the mother at the table next to us asking if she could speak to the manager about the glass. My back was to their table and I don't know if her son didn't get a glass.

The "special effects" were actually a bit jarring for us as we were very close. I considered them to be a minor drawback to that location. The jets of air that go off around the viewing area ( I don't know how to describe them) were located right in front of our table. They go off several times during the show. The first time was a real surprise. My DD said that she jumped every time. (I think those are the special effects mentioned in the previous post. One man's special effects are another man's minor annoyance. It just goes to show that you can't make everyone happy!)

Overall it was an enjoyable experience as being seated during WOC is amazing when you're exhausted already.

I actually thought about doing this, but definitely won't after seeing that. It's one thing to have someone ruin your view when all you have invested is a fastpass. It's another thing when its, what..... $79? No thank you.

It's too bad they couldn't ask people to not put little ones on their shoulders. I agree that $180 for the three of us to have someone block your view is disappointing.

Those look great...what was that dessert served in the bowl for the GF option?
It was an apple pie like dish, no crust but a nice gf topping. Not bad. We were really paying for the seat and view with no positioning for a place for our son to see and the need for momma bear. Momma bear mode takes some of the magic out of the evening so if I can lessen the chance I do....
We will do this again in July!

Yes we had a few shoulder kids a head of us, but they really didn't obstruct our view. I can't speak for those at the lower tables. I can only recommend the high tops. I hate the shoulder snowflakes too, especially when they arrive 30 seconds prior to the event, fill a space for a small child with a 300 pound 6 ft adult and then complain their child can't see only to proceed to hoist them 6 feet in the air blocking the view you've patiently held for the past 30-60 mins. For your child. Now, back to the happiest place on earth...sorry for the rant...

Hopefully the back row high tops of the reserved area will continue to minimize their effect for this fabulous show.

you only get the one plate but it is quite filling especially if you have already had dinner. the desserts and cheese are rich. I haven't figured out how to post pictures yet but when I do I have a few. There are pictures on yelp
THANK YOU AND THANK YOU!
Your reply explained all of my concerns!
I'll definitly book the dessert package!

Sorry this isn't the best quality, but it gives you an idea of our view.

Yeah, I think the shoulder kids are annoying but...its still a better view than what I've gotten from the regular fastpass sections. Also, you get a chair and don't have to worry about people stepping on you! I've done one of the dinner packages without the seating before, and the food wasn't that great, I would rather of had some desserts and champagne (because its hard to screw that up) with a chair! I might actually consider this, because WoC is a neat show with very terrible viewing options.

I think it's just luck of the draw. We had a great view at our last WOC viewing because nobody in the section below us put kids on shoulders. The year before we were in the dining section with a great view until someone stood a kid on a trash can in the section right below us (despite being told twice by CMs they couldn't do that).

I just don't think I would want to spend the money for a hit or miss experience. Some value chairs more, I value an unobstructed view. That's no guarantee anywhere (except down front and center in the wet zone) but I would be less bothered by the view if I had less money invested in it.

Thanks for the review - we are considering it but the kids on the shoulders thing does bug me :( I'm not very tall to begin with!

However maybe it's better being in that area, than being in that crowd standing directly behind someone with a kid on their shoulders!? Lol

For those who have done the WoC Dessert Party already.... did you only have to give your name to get in? I made reservations a few weeks back, and my card was definitely charged for it. But it doesn't look like I got an email with an ADR# or anything.

So, has anyone done this with children? Are they also $79? What about under 3?

I haven't done it yet, but I have reservations. There is no children's price so it is $79 for kids. Children under 3 are free, but they do not get their own seat or dessert. This is what I was told when I made my reservation.
