Hello.... I am going to Orlando for a convention @ the World Center. What is everyones thoughts of the hotel?

I plan on sneaking over to disney world on Sunday & Monday before the conference starts.

Are there disney view rooms? It said its right outside the gates.

How would recommend getting from teh airport to the hotel? The website said the mears shuttle is the first stop, but i was thinking of taking a taxi. My flight lands in Orlando @ 9 and i want to be in Epcot by 11!

Any tips are appreciated.

The hotel is beautiful but MASSIVE! I think there must be 40+ floors.

I stayed there 3 nights a few years ago on a priceline deal, and we had a really nice pool view room. The pool is amazing, and the fitness room was nice too. There was a champoinship golf course on the property as well. I think the best way to put it is that if I were going to a convention near WDW it's the perfect hotel, but if I were visiting WDW with a family i'd not stay there because the hotel is full of folks on business.

Have a good time!

It's a beautiful hotel. The pool areas are very nice.
We stayed in the west building on the top floor. Although our room overlooked a parking lot, we were able to see DTD. One night we ordered room service which was very good and reasonably priced. My DH and I sat on the balcony and watched the Disney fireworks while we ate.
They also have an awesome breakfast buffet pricey but the food selection is amazing.

I love this hotel. I usually stay here a couple of nights before I go on property for a Disney vacation.

The hotel is on one of the roads (World Drive) that leads on to the Walt Disney World Resort Property. It is about a mile from that "gate", although its more of a symbolic archway than a gate.

I have stayed in rooms on higher floors where it is possible to see some fireworks, but it is a distance away.

If the cab is a business expense, I'd go that way. It will get you there quicker because you do not have to wait for a Mears shuttle to load up!

If you play golf, the course at World Center is quite a challenge!

The main entrance to EPCOT is about a 10 minute cab ride from the World Center.
