hey guys!

I plan to apply to DCP for spring 2020. My top role I want is character performer but merchandise is 3rd on my list (after attractions) but I particularly want a position in Epcot World Showcase, but I’m American. However, I speak Swedish, a bit of Norwegian, and some German.
Last time I went to Disney, they had Americans who did not speak a second language stationed in Norway and France. Do you think if I mentioned it to my PI, it’s possible I could be put there due to my interest along with my language skills?

(Bonus: If anyone could tell me how hard the language tests are, that’d be great! )

To my knowledge this wouldn't be a possibility. The only cast in these locations that could be American would be the coordinators (or managers). Each of the Merhcandise H/H in the pavilions are on the Cultural Rep program or in some cases FT, PT, or seasonal.

During your phone interview, I'd mention Swedish if you're proficient in it, but I don't think you're going to get placed as a CP in any country other than the American Adventure. While this doesn't exactly answer your question, I do want to mention that one of my very close friends did her DCP stationed as a Merchandise CM at the American Adventure (for the record, she adored it).

To me American Adventure would make an AWESOME CP-you would be around all the CMs from the other WS Countries and a BIG bonus would be getting to listen to all the Concerts at America Gardens while working!!!!:)

She really loved it! She said her management was great and she loved all of her coworkers, and had so many magical moments with guests!

The language tests aren't that difficult. I did one once where they just made me say something along the lines of "the bathroom is to the left."

Love your username! Thank you for this info!

Update: I contacted DCP support, and they said it is possible, but positions in WS for domestic DCPs is minimal and usually limited to custodial or American Pavilion, but I’m still free to request say Norway or Germany.
