Working from home for Disney

I am dieing to go back to Disney. Next year my middle child will turn 16 and she wants to do the Keys to the Kingdom tour for her birthday. Unfortunatly Disney is just not in the "normal family expenses" budget. Our vacation budget is no more and hubby's salary is just enough to handle everyday expenses. So after some research I made a plan to completely fund our next vacation myself by working from home. I am so excited because in the first month I already banked $250. I have plenty of time and I am confident I can do this. It feels great to know I am going to be able to do this without taking away from our normal budget. Everything I earn is extra and is for Disney.
I am going to try to keep track of my goal here.
Month 1: $251.83 :cool1:

Are you looking for suggestions on how to make $$ working from home or just sharing your idea? Just wondering. I'm always looking to make a bit more $$ without having to get dressed up and drive 40 miles!................P

Please share how!!!!

I do transcription work. I don't know if I can post more about it due to forum rules.
Just Google Freelance Transcription work.

I also do Swag bucks and My Points for Gas cards. And sell on EBay and do alteration and costume work for local dancers.

That is so great. How much can you put of this income towards Dis every month?

I would love this.

Up to $283.38 :cool1:

I am working on my budget now. I am looking at about $2500. I have free hotel due to a gift of DVC points from my sister
I hope to cover gas with Swagbucks/mypoints/credit card rewards.
We will eat 75% of meals in our room since it has a kitchen and we have dietary restrictions.
My biggest expense is going to be park admission.

I write online. Lots of sites for that if you enjoy writing. I've totally amped it up for my upcoming trip and even thinking about the following one ;)

Mind sharing some of the sites? I'd love to get back into a little writing.

I'd love to work from home. Just don't know what I can do without it costing me money to do it. I know nothing about transcription work other than most of the time it's medical related. I don't write as I'm not gifted enough for that, as much as I love to read.

If I could find a stay at home job doing some sort of data entry, I would. But I seriously need to supplement my current income.

Good luck! I am doing the same. I am a photographer and every penny I make is going towards Disney. I will be able to pay for my family of 6 to go this November! I am so excited. Good luck to you!

You may have heard more about medical transcription, which is evolving into more speech recognition editing as the electronic medical record evolves, but actually there is a lot of legal and general transcription work available. The bulk of the work may very well be legal.

Many people work at home doing transcription and make much more than OP, who apparently has just begun.

I've been working from home for awhile now as a travel agent. Love it. Plus I have very good justification to spend the first bit of money I make at Disney every year ;) Good luck on the transcription side of things :)

Yes I am new to it and work slower then more experienced workers. I am not looking to make a full time job salary. My goal is $50 a week so obviously I am not working full time :)
There is tons of information online so you just have to search and find what you can do.

I made my Disney Budget today :cool1:
Disney Tickets 4 Adult / 5 day $ 1250.00
Gas $200.00
Food $600.00
Sweet 16’s B-Day Tour $150.00
Spending Money $250.00
Hotel (DVC gift points from sister) $0

Total goal: $2500.00
Payments needed to meet goal: $4 a day or $29 a week or $125 a month (I have a great app on my phone that keeps track of this for me :thumbsup2 )

Jayme: do you need a license? I love this biz, but how do you get clients? Are there agencies that would hire me or do you go it alone? Thanks all. All my earnings would also go to wdw. ;)

Good job on your endeavor!

I might have to check into the transcription. I have never done it before but I type pretty well. My degree, while not used, is in pre-law.
