So... DH is in training in OK and we're here for three months. I applied for a job at a bookstore chain, and the hiring process was dragged over a month. Now, as soon as my drug test comes back negative, I think I have the job. But I won't start until late next week or early the next, which means I will work for a month, then have to give two weeks notice, for six weeks total of work.
Now, the manager said the job is temporary for a big project the week of May 10, then after that she'll decide who to keep on. So, I could be let go after the temp project ends... But she knows I have a college degree and was talking about moving up in the store at my interview. (I don't know if that's typical - this is my first retail interview!)
But, if I'm not let go at the end of the temp project, will it look bad? I mean, she could give me a bad review for only working six weeks...
But, this bookstore has three stores in Spokane, where we're moving, so I could work here for six weeks, then transfer up there. Is that hard? Would they do that? Then I wouldn't have to job hunt as seriously up there. (Or at all, if I really like the job.)
Oh, and did I mention - one of my benefits is a free paperback book every week. Every week! Up to 52 books a year! They wouldn't even have to pay me with a benefit like that! (Yes, I'm already making a list...)
Sorry, long post!
