Tonight there was a lady at church who used the word Ick and Yuck Her hubby told her to talk like an adult.

Do you think those are adult or child words?

I think they are for either adults or children. Perhaps used more by children.

I'd say they're just words, neither particularly young or old.

However, if my husband ever said something like that to me I believe my response would be, "Well, bleep you, you bleeping bleephole. That adult enough for you?"

:rotfl:I was thinking the same exact thing:rotfl: How dare he chastise his wife like that in front of other people for using what I like to call 'fun' words. Oh it would not have ended well if I was the woman on the other end of that little dialogue, but then again my DH would never ever do that. Not his style to do it and not mine to take it. Poor woman, if he talks like that to her in public I can only imagine what he must say privately.

If my husband ever criticized my choice of words in such a manner in front of anyone (including the four walls of our home) I would kill him dead and humiliate his corpse.

If my husband told me to talk like an adult, I believe I would be using the adult words 'divorce' and 'alimony'.

Hmmm, remind me to stay on your GOOD side!!!!

I was thinking the same thing. And this would be after I used every "adult" word to describe what I thought of him.

I don't think anyone would heard this two thought of any thing about it. They are always are "fighting" like that. They live to jab each other. LOL

:lmao: This would be pretty close to my reaction, as well.

I hate it when couples act like that--bickering and sniping at each other. It makes me really uncomfortable.

Funny you would start this thread because both Ick and Yuk were used on the Survivor Thread. What a coincidence :)

I am still laughing at this!

And I prefer "ick" and "yuck" over ressie, pressie, and preggo.

Yes, this!!! :rotfl:

I'm 33 & I say "yuck!" alot lately...it's a more "family friendly" word than what I'd LIKE to say when I'm out holiday shopping & I happen upon something that's like, "Oh no you didn't!!!"; a certain experience in a public restroom at the mall last night comes to mind :sad2:  :scared1:

This.

I just really hate the word "poo" for adults or kids. Really. Just put he "p" or the "h" on the end and I am fine.
